What is MVTO?

Every printing and post-insertion environment experiences waste during the production process. On high volume devices, this waste is approximately one-half of one percent of all documents. For a high volume environment, that could equate to a half-million documents or more per month. Reprinting these documents on high end systems can be inefficient and costly. In addition, performing proof work or running low volume jobs can be equally costly. To address this gap, companies seek out lower-cost and smaller-footprint devices that will quickly and efficiently turn around reprint work, while offering comparable speed, quality and uptime as their high end system. This area of the transactional printing market is considered mid-volume. Other evaluation considerations for MVTO equipment purchases include simple and intuitive user operability, a high degree of reliability, low operating costs, low power consumption, and environmental friendliness.

Mid Volume Transaction Output
Jul 1, 2008

The RISO HC Series for mid volume transaction output.

Today's variable data printing applications can go far beyond the laser-personalized letters, invoices, and customer statements of recent decades. It is now possible to further customize transactional documents with transpromotional messages, as well as develop customized sales brochures and training handouts to fit the needs, interests, and preferences of individual customers, employees, or members. VDP has been shown to boost the effectiveness of printed output, whether it's measured by response rates, readership, ROI, or customer satisfaction.

To produce personalized communications, in high volume, requires an output device that can handle color and VDP with great efficiency. While many products claim to have this ability, RISO redefines efficiency with its HC5500 high-speed full color inkjet printing systems. Increasingly, more transactional print providers are turning to this product because of its low cost, small footprint, and high level of reliability.

The RISO HC Series printers produce variable output in color easily and economically. Whether each page is completely different or a simple mail merge is used just to place a name and address on a page, postcard or envelope, an HC Series printer can handle a wide array of variable data print jobs.

High Speed, Affordable Printer Full Color Printer

A RISO HC5500 printer can produce full color documents at speeds as fast as 120 ppm, and for as low as 3 cents per page.  The HC5500 high volume printer speeds through print jobs, and because the HC is a no-heat, non-impact printer, its reliability and up-time is superior to toner-based devices. Combine that with a small footprint, no special power requirements, and very low power consumption, and you have a high speed color printer that offers a rich feature set with an incredibly low total cost of ownership.
