Women of Distinction
Class of 2008 Award Winners


OutputLinks is proud to announce the Women of Distinction Class of 2008. The award celebrates the diverse achievements of outstanding women in the HVTO industry. This year’s seven award recipients---well-known luminaries of the HVTO community---were selected for their experience, leadership and contributions to the industry.

 

The Award winners exemplify a wide range of admirable attributes from entrepreneurialism to marketing skills to technical prowess. Over the past six years, 49 professionals have been honored with the Women of Distinction designation. They represent president and CEOs, senior management, educators, technical consultants, document managers and other illustrious women who make a difference in the high volume transaction output industry.

The 2008 class of the OutputLinks Women of Distinction include:

Valentina Carnevali - Italy

Marketing & Communication Manager
4IT Group

Valentina Carnevali is co-founder of 4IT Group, a communication and consultancy company for associations and groups of enterprises in the high-volume printing and document management markets. As project manager of Inprinting, Italy’s largest conference on digital printing and electronic documents, and as officer of Xplor Italy, Carnevali is a major force in the Italian output community. At 4IT Group, she is the marketing and communication manager responsible for coordinating all the company's projects, which include many educational events, market research and international cooperation and institutional lobbying initiatives. During her 10 years' professional experience in Italy, Carnevali has taken care of many projects aimed at observing the market, intercepting changes and pulling together competences to match demand and to create opportunities.

 

Dr. Penny K. Bennett – United States

Associate Professor of Graphic Communication Department
California Polytechnic State University


Penny K. Bennett is an author and associate professor in the Graphic Communication Department of California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California. Her areas of expertise are in variable data printing, digital printing, workflow, output issues, packaging and prepress. Her most recent book "The Handbook for Digital Printing and Variable Data Printing" follows publications in the areas of web-based instruction, expanded gamut printing, PDF and digital printing and variable data printing. Bennett has been a presenter at a variety of conferences nationally, including FFTA Forum, Graph Expo/Print Expos, PIA/GATF Variable Data and Personalization Conference and the IPA conference.

 

Kelley Sloane – United States
Vice President, Worldwide Marketing

Exstream Software, LLC

 

Kelley Sloane has served as vice president of marketing for Exstream Software since April 2000. She is responsible for corporate, product, industry and international marketing for Exstream, as well as customer relations and co-marketing partner programs. Her services have been instrumental in Exstream’s recognition as one of the world’s fastest growing companies. Sloane graduated with distinction from the University of Kentucky with a bachelor’s degree in computer science.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Coco Chen - China
Vice president, China Academy of Printing Technology;

General manager, Keyin Print Media Company;

Secretary-general, The Digital Printing Branch of the Printing Technology Association of China


Coco Chen has been an influential force in advancing the printing technology industry in China. She leads the most prominent and professional media in the Chinese printing industry, including professional journals such as Printing Technology and Digital Printing. Chen helps organize many large-scale conferences and exhibitions like China Printing Forum and the All in Print China International Exhibition. She is a graduate of the Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication.

 

Sheila Eletto – United States

Vice President, Marketing Communications
Pitney Bowes


Sheila Eletto is vice president, marketing communications, at Pitney Bowes, leading the communication efforts within the Document Messaging Technologies (DMT) business for the past 10 years. In her role, she has helped the company evolve into the world’s leading provider of integrated customer communication management solutions, including hardware, software and professional services. Eletto is responsible for the execution of strategic marketing plans, including advertising, media relations, sales collateral, Web, trade shows and customer seminars. While at Pitney Bowes, she launched the company’s first open house and the first customer conference, which is now in its eighth year. Most recently, she successfully integrated six acquired brands into the DMT family. Eletto has received various awards for her excellence in technology and communication.

 

Kathy Hamburger – United States
President and Chief Operating Officer 

Regulus Group
Kathy Hamburger joined Regulus in 1999 and serves as president and chief operating officer of Regulus. She leads the executive management team that is responsible for business development, product management, national operations, service delivery and compliance. She is integral in the management of the company’s sales activities, driving double-digit growth and profitability results. Hamburger has extensive expertise in banking and financial services, and has held senior management positions at AT&T.

 

 

 

 

 

Lieske van der Grinten - The Netherlands

Founding Family Member - 1834-1910, Awarded Posthumously

Lieske Muysers
was born Aug. 27, 1834 in Velden, The Netherlands. In 1862, she married Lodewijk van der Grinten and developed a strong interest in her husband’s career. In 1877, Lodewijk wanted to sell a chemical coloring for margarine that he had developed for a food manufacturer. Ms. van der Grinten advised otherwise and persuaded her husband to create a company to manufacture the product. The company, now known as Océ, eventually added chemicals critical to the printing business which led to its global growth as a provider to the printing and imaging industry. Ms. van der Grinten is honored posthumously for her considerable role in the birth of Océ.
