Xplor certifies Document Production Best Practices certificate program
Richardson, Texas, April 28, 2008 – acadami™ has announced that Xplor has certified its Document Production Best Practices certificate course and has authorized acadami™ to award one Continuing Education Unit (CEU) for successful completion. The course focuses on the concepts, technologies, and best practices associated with automated transaction document production. The modules will take the student from Data to Doorstep.
The Document Production Best Practices program follows on the heels of the successful Document Production Fundamentals course at Xplor XDU 2008 in Boston. These programs are the first of their kind in the electronic document industry and provide industry professionals the opportunity to earn approved CEUs while attending industry educational seminars. In Boston at the Document Production Fundamentals course, two CEUs were awarded to the 15 attendees – out of more than 60 – who satisfied both the attendance and examination requirements
The first public offering of the Document Production Best Practices program will be in May in Canada, with programs in the United States and Europe to follow.
The new Best Practices workshop was developed and will be taught through the collaboration of industry experts Bill Broddy edp, William J. ‘Bill’ McCalpin edp, and Michael Turton edp.
“With the arrival of color and personalized messaging in Document Production, it’s critical that industry professionals stay abreast of the latest technologies and best practices,” said William McCalpin, course instructor. “This course provides an intense one-day exposure to bad, acceptable, and best practices in 2008.”

Dr Michael Turton has been designing documents for over two decades during which time he witnessed the birth of desktop printing and laser production printers. He established Cavendish Consultants in 1992, principally to design mission critical transactional documents and forms. His designs not only look good but work well, a combination of form and function.
