Fraud Authority Frank Abagnale to Lead Workshop that Provides Companies with Preventive Measures to Help Reduce Fraud Loss

(BUSINESS WIRE)--Each year, U.S. companies lose more than $660 billion to fraud, with counterfeiting and document fraud making up a large portion of that amount, according to the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Standard Register (NYSE:SR), in its continued commitment to help businesses combat fraud, is hosting a fraud-prevention workshop. Business professionals will learn how to help protect their companies from becoming victims of fraud from the one of the world’s leading authorities, Frank W. Abagnale, in this free, half-day workshop.

WHAT:
Fraud Prevention Workshop Led by Frank W. Abagnale

WHEN:
Wednesday, May 7, 2008, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

WHERE:
Sheraton Westport Hotel
900 Westport Plaza
St. Louis, Mo. 63146

Abagnale, whose youthful exploits as a forger and imposter were depicted in the motion picture “Catch Me If You Can” has lectured to and consulted with hundreds of financial institutions, corporations and government agencies around the world. This master thief turned security consultant is also the author of “The Art of the Steal,” a book that provides tips on defenses against criminals that attack businesses. The workshop will cover all aspects of fraud – the methods and technologies used by forgers, the liabilities associated with fraud, and the latest deterrents and advanced security techniques.

You are invited to attend to learn more about this timely, newsworthy topic. Talk with Frank W. Abagnale, security experts from Standard Register, and local business persons who are kept up at night worrying about how to protect their companies.

Note: Frank Abagnale will be available briefly following the workshop for questions, speaking only to information covered in the workshop.
