FRISCO, TX – June 10, 2008 – Skywire Software, a leading global provider of software and services for the insurance, financial services and legal industries, today announced its president and CEO Patrick Brandt is a finalist for the Ernst & Young 2008 Southwest Area Entrepreneur of the Year® Award. Brandt will be recognized at the annual awards banquet, June 28, in Dallas.
This is the second consecutive year that Brandt, who founded Skywire Software in 2000, has been named as a finalist for the prestigious award. Under his leadership, the company has experienced tremendous growth both organically and through ten acquisitions overall, including the acquisitions of Integrated Insurance Technologies, Docucorp International, and Whitehill Technologies during 2007. Today, the company has more than 600 employees, operates 10 offices and delivers market leading vertical software and services to more than 2,400 customers in 45 countries worldwide.
Under Brandt’s leadership, the company has earned more than 70 awards in recognition of its high growth, commitment to employees and the community, leadership in industry standards and innovation in technology. Brandt also has earned several accolades for his business acumen, leadership and community service, including recognition as a finalist for the Ernst & Young 2007 Southwest Area Entrepreneur of the Year® Award, the 2006 Ellis Award from the Entrepreneurs Foundation of North Texas and the 2004 Tech Titans Emerging CEO.
Prior to founding Skywire Software, Brandt was engaged in a variety of entrepreneurial endeavors where he drew together and sharpened many of the skills that he used in building Skywire Software.
An active community volunteer, Brandt serves on the boards of several nonprofit organizations focused on promoting entrepreneurship among at-risk youth and philanthropy to emerging and established companies. He is a founding director of the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship, Greater Dallas, serves as an advisory board member to the Entrepreneurs Foundation of North Texas and is an advisor to Vision Regeneration. He also serves on the board of the Education is Freedom Foundation and is a partner for Dallas Social Venture Partners.
Brandt earned a Bachelor of Science degree in economics and finance from Southern Methodist University and also participated in the MBA program.
The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards annually recognize the men and women who excel at growing and sustaining market-leading businesses.
