RR Donnelley Wins Final Ipex 2010 Champions in Print Award

RR DONNELLEY WINS FINAL IPEX 2010 ‘CHAMPIONS IN PRINT’ AWARD

The judges of the Ipex 2010 ‘Champions in Print’ award have broken with tradition and given the final accolade not to an individual but to the printing group that they consider has had one of the most positive impacts on the industry and which has been a shining example of pioneering innovation.

Formed in 1864, RR Donnelley is a global provider of integrated communications and the world's premier full-service provider of print and related services, including business process outsourcing.  Under the management of President and CEO, Thomas J. Quinlan III, the company continues to expand its offering through making strategic acquisitions and providing enhanced solutions in commercial printing, direct mail, financial printing and many other areas to over 60,000 customers worldwide.

RR Donnelley employs around 55,000 people globally and has manufacturing operations in North America, Latin America, Asia and Europe.  The company has recently signed a definitive agreement to acquire US based Bowne & Co., contingent on obtaining all required regulatory approvals.

“We are pleased and honoured that the innovative work our employees are doing on behalf of customers worldwide is being recognized by Ipex,” states Mr Quinlan. “New technologies, such as our ProteusJet™ digital print units are helping to create fresh opportunities for customers to employ highly personalized print in their communications mix. In combination with a host of other innovations, including mobile and interactive tools, these technologies are enabling our customers to more effectively engage with their audiences."

Ipex 2010 Event Director, Trevor Crawford, says, “We’re delighted to announce that a company, which represents such an excellent example of an innovative print service provider adapting effectively to the increasing customer demands and challenging communications landscape, has been recognised with this prestigious award. The company has been known for its continuous belief in and support for the important role of the print on paper value chain.  We look forward to welcoming RR Donnelley to the official Ipex Opening Ceremony on 18th May.”

The Ipex 2010 ‘Champions in Print’ Awards were launched to honour individuals who have influenced and shaped the printing industry across the world. Previous winners include John Crosfield, Lord Bob Gavron, Dr. John Warnock, Dr. Charles Geschke, Professor Frank Romano, JK Rowling, Benny Landa and Dan Gelbart.
