Ricoh VDP Solution Opens New Windows for JELD-WEN

JELD-WEN, the name behind brands such as Stegbar, Corinthian Doors and Airlite, is benefiting from time and cost savings through the implementation of a variable data printing (VDP) solution by Ricoh to simplify their invoicing.

The on-demand VDP system makes use of pre-designed digital forms which can be anything from invoices and statements through to letters and brochures.

The Ricoh solution, including 100 multifunction devices (MFDs) was done through their local Ricoh Business Partner in Brisbane to streamline the production and distribution of their invoices and statements, in particular to:

  • Offer multiple distribution methods;
  • Decrease ongoing associated expenditure with invoicing;
  • Improve the presentation of invoices and statements; and
  • Reduce time spent on processing.

Previously the company relied on dot-matrix printers to produce the invoices from their head office before sending them out for distribution across their 80 business operations.

"The Ricoh solution means that even with large volumes of invoices, our offices are receiving hard copy prints in a matter of seconds," said Mark Yates, JELD-WEN Australia Director of Information Services. "Before, it was taking anywhere up to half-an-hour."

In the case of JELD-WEN, the VDP solution provided by Ricoh draws data directly from the companies Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system database, automatically inserts it into the required invoice or statement form/template, and distributes it either by fax, email or across the WAN to the relevant business’ Ricoh MFD.

Distribution has been further streamlined with the ability to send documents to recipients via email or fax, eliminating additional cost and delays involved with printing and traditional mail.
