| Pinnacle Data Systems Delivers Nearly Ten Million Monthly Impressions with the InfoPrint 5000 Inkjet Platform |
Atlanta-based
company replaces existing hardware with Ricoh’s market-leading system,
improving cost-savings and output quality
LUCERNE – February 13, 2013 – Ricoh, a leading
provider of digital output solutions, has announced that Pinnacle Data Systems, LLC (PDS) has successfully completed its first full year
of production with the market-leading InfoPrint 5000 platform, consistently producing more than eight
million impressions each month. Utilising Hunkeler pre- and
post-finishing equipment from Standard Finishing Systems with the InfoPrint 5000, PDS has enhanced their
overall operation, and more accurately delivered upon and exceeded their
customers’ needs – all of which has been accomplished in its first twelve
months of production.
PDS, a specialist in critical document and electronic delivery
solutions, ultimately chose the InfoPrint 5000 due to its superior quality,
reliability and ease of operation. These features enable PDS to compete for new
digital colour business and migrate existing monochrome workloads to colour,
bringing more value and increased revenue to customers.
The InfoPrint 5000 further enables PDS to more strongly dominate the
industries they serve including utilities and financial services. By
replacing existing hardware solutions with the InfoPrint 5000, PDS is also able
to expand current printing capabilities into new vertical markets as well as
deliver new services to both existing and new customers.
“In today’s market, where customer requirements are continually changing
and increasing, we need to be sure we can deliver time and time again. The InfoPrint 5000 and our Ricoh services team make sure that we can.
From the very beginning, Ricoh has shown that they are a dedicated partner in
our quest to deliver on customer needs and produce high quality output, while
maintaining reliability day in and day out. They have easily exceeded our
lofty expectations,” said Robert Reddinger, president, PDS. “In just the first
two days of operation, we successfully printed and post-processed 1.3 million
impressions. Since then, our volumes have steadily grown, along with our incredible
satisfaction with this platform and our team, who has been right beside us long
after the sale was made.”
The InfoPrint 5000’s unique piezo-electric drop-on-demand inkjet
technology with multi-bit per spot for every object on the page, coupled with
its high-quality water-based pigment and dye inks designed to resist fading and
smearing, result in optimising the appearance of the output while minimising
the volume of ink consumed. These Advanced Function Presentation
(AFP)-enabled
systems support PostScript and PDF, provide accurate, consistent, and
device-independent colour-rendering, and provide error recovery, auditability,
and security benefits. From a software and solutions perspective, the
InfoPrint 5000 enables customers to deliver precision marketing campaigns,
offer their clients a variety of output types at different price points,
provide flexibility with colour, monochrome and MICR printing, and produce one
of the smallest carbon footprints in the market today.
“At Ricoh we strive to empower our customers with the best capabilities
to deliver on their promises to their clients, and in turn, help them grow
their business. Our InfoPrint 5000 family, combined with our full understanding
of PDS’ business, allowed us to architect an unmatched solution that
specifically answered their needs,” said Stephen Palmer, Production Print
Director, Ricoh UK. “Now PDS can support their migration toward colour-based
output while continuously providing clients with exceptional reliability, print
quality and business growth. Combining the InfoPrint 5000 with Hunkeler
equipment has helped PDS to increase its throughput and colour-based output,
and grow their business – a win/win for them and their customers.”
Ricoh’s InfoPrint 5000 inkjet family is a key component of the company’s
Print and Beyond product, software and services portfolio. Customers have
a choice of three platforms that operate at a variety of speeds, with colour,
monochrome and MICR capability, all using proven, scalable, highly reliable
drop-on-demand inkjet technology. It is designed specifically for commercial
printers, transactional printers, service bureaus, direct mailers and book
