Seven High Volume Transaction Output Professionals (HVTO) Receive Prestigious Award Honoring Industry Luminaries

HOUSTON, Tex., U.S.A (May 24, 2006)---OutputLinks, the leading research and information resource for users and vendors in the high volume transaction output (HVTO) industry, celebrated the diverse achievements of seven outstanding women with the announcement of its annual HVTO Women of Distinction Award recipients. This special recognition by OutputLinks spotlights the rich history and ongoing skills and contributions of this unique league of high-profile women.

The seven women---well-known luminaries of the HVTO community---were selected for their industry experience, leadership skills, and extensive industry participation. The women exemplify a wide range of admirable attributes from entrepreneurialism to marketing skills to technical prowess. Over the past four years, thirty-seven professionals have been honored with the designation of Women of Distinction. They represent senior management, educators, technical consultants, document managers and other illustrious women who make a difference in the HVTO industry.

The following renowned professionals were presented the OutputLinks 2006 HVTO Women of Distinction Award:

Clare Woodman
Chief Operating Officer
Megaspirea International

Clare Woodman embodies the entrepreneurial spirit. Though she was named the 2004 Pitney Bowes Inventor of the Year, she left that company to join an international start-up venture, Megaspirea International. Her new company's innovative product, the Mailliner 100, facilitates the creation of on-demand transaction and marketing pieces. Woodman served almost 20 years in the production mail industry at Pitney Bowes where she worked in engineering, product management, strategic marketing and alliance development, along the whole value chain of production mail, both hardware and software. She has an electrical engineering degree, a master of business administration and holds seven U.S. patents on everything from real-time machine control to Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment.

Shelley Sweeney
Vice President / General Manager Service Bureau/ Direct Marketing Sector
Xerox Corporation

Shelley Sweeney is the Vice President / General Manager for the Service Bureau and Direct Marketing Sector, Graphic Arts Industry, Xerox Corporation. In this role, Sweeney has responsibility for marketing and customer partnership programs for this strategic sector of the Graphic Communication industry. She is responsible for developing, marketing and maintaining solutions for the Service Bureau sector worldwide. She manages the overall go-to-market strategy for the segment, including market analysis, identification of key business opportunities, sales coverage, product and solution requirements, marketing plans and customer engagement and relationships. Sweeney has been with Xerox for 20 years in a variety of assignments in engineering, sales, operations and marketing. She has a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business Marketing and has completed the Smith College Executive Management Program. Prior to joining Xerox, Sweeney was an electrical engineer for ITT/Federal Electric Corporation.

Elizabeth Walter
Executive Vice President
Group 1 Software, A Pitney Bowes Compan

Elizabeth Walter is executive vice president, International Field Operations for Group 1. She leads the planning and execution of growth strategies to deliver high-value Customer Communication Management (CCM) solutions through direct and indirect channels serviced by 15 locations across Europe, Latin America and Asia Pacific regions. Walter previously held positions in sales and sales engineering in the enterprise software industry with companies such as Boole & Babbage (now BMC), Syncsort and IBM. She holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in electrical engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology.

Cathy Lewis
Senior Vice President, Marketing
IKON Office Solutions

Throughout her career, Cathy Lewis has made significant contributions to the output industry. Now serving as the senior vice president of marketing for IKON, Lewis honed her HVTO skills at Siemens Information Systems. She moved to Xerox Printing Systems marketing in early 1990 and helped launch the industry's first highlight color products as well as software that enabled Xerox to print from IBM AFP data streams. In her dozen years with Xerox, almost eight were in and around the high volume business. Lewis closed her Xerox career as the vice president of worldwide marketing for the Color Solutions Business Unit and moved forward to IKON in 2001. At IKON, she has helped the company take its high-volume portfolio to the next level by enhancing relationships with both existing and new vendors and identifying products that round out IKON's portfolio.

Kim Chan
Manager of Institutional Information Management
Franklin Templeton Investments

Kim Chan has a talent for automating highly customized documents for investment and insurance customers while keeping an eye on scalability, cost savings and ROI. Currently the manager of Institutional Information Management for Franklin Templeton Investments, Chan and her team are responsible for automating client reporting for a wide range of investment products. Client reporting materials include those documents necessary for face-to-face meetings between portfolio managers and clients as well as quarterly packages for investors and financial consultants. Prior to Franklin Templeton Investments, Chan served as IT director at BenefitPoint, a startup that supports the web interface between insurance carriers, brokers and employers. In this role her team supported automated client reporting for insurance brokerage firms. Chan began her HVTO career at PeopleSoft as the IT manager responsible for CRM applications.

Katherine D. Clarke (Casey)
National Account Manager, Creative Services Specialist
US Government Printing Office (USGPO)

Born on a sailboat named Trouble Shooter, Katherine Clarke has done just that for the past three years in her role at the U.S. Government Printing Office (USGPO). Clarke devises and implements tactical and strategic business development plans, opens new markets and seizes business opportunities for new products and services. Her major accounts include the State Department, General Services Administration, Veteran Affairs, Federal Emergency Management Agency (Department of Homeland Security), Congress and The Supreme Court of the United States. Before joining the USPGO, Clarke was with TouchPoint Communications, where she was responsible for branding print and web products. She began her HVTO career at Empire BlueCross BlueShield as a print buyer. After a previous system was lost as a result of the 9/11 attacks, Clarke designed and implemented a temporary marketing job tracking database from scratch using Microsoft Access.

Kathy Dell
Vice President of Partner Relations
Elixir Technologies

Kathy Dell is an experienced veteran of the high volume transaction output (HVTO) community. Currently serving as vice president of partner relations at Elixir Technologies, Dell began her career with Intran, the inventor of the first graphics, font and forms editors for the Xerox 9700 printing system. While at Intran, Dell worked with her longtime career mentor, Basit Hamid, who went on to form Elixir Technologies. Later, Varityper Corporation, a producer of cold-typesetting equipment, recruited Dell from Intran to bring composition technology to high-quality offset printing companies. It wasn't long before Xerox spotted Dell and brought her to El Segundo, Calif. to speed the integration of Elixir's products with Xerox's systems and sales force. Dell moved on to Elixir Technologies, where she's been for more than 18 years.
