Canon currently holds an approximately 90% stake in Océ and going forward Canon and Océ will work closely aligned to leverage each others strengths in technology and distribution in the Chinese market place.

"Canon China has again grown beyond the expectation in 2010," said Hideki Ozawa, President, Canon Asia Marketing Group and CEO, Canon China. Océ JetStream inkjet series

Océ offers a future-proof concept for enterprises that are aiming for growth in the mailing business, transaction printing, TransPromo or newspaper and book printing for applications where speed and outstanding quality are make-or-break issues. During Print China, the Océ JetStream 1000 will be introduced to the emerging Chinese print market. The Océ JetStream 1000 offers the unique combination of single cabinet full width duplex printing, the capability to print up to 6 colors and the smallest inkjet footprint in the industry. The compact design with two print engines in one cabinet allows for a space saving installation and offers an unbeatable productivity to compactness ratio. The Océ JetStream 1000 produces full color output at a speed of 75 meters per minute resulting in 1010 A4 impressions per minute for monthly print volumes of up to 24 million impressions. This makes the Océ JetStream 1000 the entry level solution into the Océ JetStream family and into the high volume full color inkjet market.

The Océ JetStream family of ultra-high speed web-fed color printers utilizes Océ DigiDot®, the latest innovation in piezoelectric drop-on-demand inkjet technology. By varying the size of the droplets of ink from 7 pl to 12 pl., Océ JetStream technology supports a broad range of media. Moreover, Multibit dot modulation result in dazzling image quality, smooth continuous-tone transitions, brilliant colors and coverage that surpass competitive systems in its class. The Océ JetStream family offers excellent quality full-color output at speeds up to 3,030 A4 pages per minute and a volume up to 80 million A4 impressions per month.

"As the global market leader in continuous feed production color printing, we are very proud to bring the Océ JetStream family of ultra-high speed web-fed color inkjet printers to the Chinese market," said Sebastian Landesberger, Executive Vice President Production Printing, Océ. "The commercial printing and graphic arts market in China is one of the largest in the world and we look forward to working with innovative printing companies in China that want to unlock the potential of high-speed digital printing to complement their offset printing operations. In this respect we welcome the new regulation issued by the government's GAPP regarding digital printing, which will for example open up the market for digital book-on-demand printing."

Océ and manroland AG

Started in 2011, manroland and Océ are the first on the market to offer total digital printing solutions aimed at the graphic arts industry – all of these being solutions that will include consulting, systems, services and materials provided by a single source. The companies supply solutions that cover all of the manufacturing steps within the graphic arts industry by combining print data management and digital and offset printing as well as post processing. The main beneficiaries of the cooperation are printing operations: These can select optimum future-oriented technology and workflow solutions after being jointly advised by manroland and Océ. Both companies complement each other ideally and are thus able to obtain competitive advantages from this cooperation. manroland makes its entry into digital printing and can build up its own digital printing competence step-by-step. Océ receives access to new customer segments and will therefore have the opportunity to considerably extend its customer offering in the graphic arts industry.

Leading in webfed offset printing, manroland possesses profound expertise in the development and manufacturing of high-productivity offset technologies as well as in the associated post processing and finishing systems. Océ, as the No. 1 in digital full color continuous feed printing, has experience in the fields of system integration, workflow management, and variable high-performance data printing. Until now, customers were forced to merge these differing technologies themselves. Therefore solutions that were ideal both from the technological and business perspective were not possible. manroland provides Océ access to the graphic arts industry through its distribution network.
