Océ VarioPrint 6250 System Receives Outstanding “Beyond 5 Star” BERTL Rating
Report honors Océ digital duplex solution for quality, registration and productivity
March 4, 2008 – Trumbull, CT and Boston, MA – Océ announces that the Océ VarioPrint® 6250 digital print system has received an outstanding “Beyond 5 Star” rating from BERTL®, a premier source for independent product evaluation reports and comparative analysis. In its analysis of the Océ VarioPrint 6250, BERTL called Océ Gemini Instant Duplex technology “one of the most groundbreaking technological advancements in the history of electrophotography.”
Highest Honor Goes to Multiple Award Winner
BERTL rarely grants a Beyond 5 Star Rating. According to BERTL, this award is “reserved for the best of the best, the elite level performers in their class, delivering unparalleled quality.”
The BERTL honor is the most recent of many awards received by the Océ VarioPrint 6250 system, which was introduced in March 2006. The digital duplex printer also won the 2006 ON DEMAND Best of Show award, the 2007 InterTech™ Technology Award from the Printing Industries of America/Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (USA), and Best Product of the Year 2007 and Best Production Cutsheet Monochrome printer from the European Digital Press Association (EDP).

Extreme Testing in the Field
The Océ VarioPrint 6250 system is based on Océ Gemini Instant Duplex technology, the only technology in the industry to be able to print simultaneously on the back and front of a page in a single pass. The system prints 250 duplex prints minute, making it up to 70 percent faster than other printers in its class.
BERTL evaluated the Océ VarioPrint 6250 model in real-world environments, including a site producing short to medium length book runs. BERTL stated that the Océ VarioPrint 6250 system performed admirably in the field, noting the customer ran the system “under extreme workloads with little if any unscheduled downtime.” The Océ VarioPrint 6250 system is well suited for this type of application. The Océ Gemini Instant Duplex technology supports near perfect registration of books, manuals and other publications, since the system prints both sides simultaneously. In addition, advanced active dynamic registration technology uses a battery of sensors to ensure perfect sheet positioning and print registration.
