Océ PRISMAproduction Server Expands Capabilities for Multi-Platform Environments
Enhancements increase productivity for Graphic Arts workflow
September 10, 2007, Chicago, Illinois – Océ, a global leader in digital document management and delivery, announces productivity enhancements to the Océ PRISMAproductionTM server, resulting in more efficient high-volume workflow in commercial and corporate print environments.
The broad range of applications encountered in the Graphic Arts market make it critical to accommodate different types of work, devices and file formats. The flexible PRISMAproduction server unifies workflow by driving multiple print engines and formats across production sites. Scalable PRISMAproduction ranges from a single server resource to a multi-server/client environment, all with customized operator sessions to enhance application security.
Integration with Océ Document Designer Advanced software provides the seamless composition and production workflow Graphic Arts customers demand. The ability to convert from AFP to PostScript ® language gives users more options for output that leverages document design capabilities. Enhanced Océ VarioPrint ® 6000 support brings even more productivity to applications running on the system’s world-class single pass duplex printing. RIP speeds have also been enhanced to better handle larger print jobs. Complete back up is now available to provide security and recovery, ensuring Graphic Arts operations can meet customer SLAs even in the face of operational disruption.
Increased competitiveness in the Graphic Arts market makes accurate accounting and billing more important than ever for measuring business performance and providing customer service excellence. Now PRISMAproduction offers enhanced accounting to increase job costing and budget accuracy.
Océ PRISMAproduction server handles any application for monochrome and Océ CustomTone® printing in Graphic Arts and transaction printing environments. Now a new trapping module improves the quality and precision of CustomTone prints for Océ VarioStream® 9000 applications where objects in different colors border each other. Use of bitmap trapping for print files is crucial to the success of transpromo applications as well as many popular on-demand color applications. Customers will also be able to take advantage of PRISMAproduction capabilities to support the new Océ ColorStreamTM 10000 full color system and achieve a unified workflow across the entire Océ family.
"Océ is committed to helping Graphic Arts professionals manage all aspects of their digital printing workflow. With these enhancements, they can achieve more streamlined, unified processes, enabling them to succeed in a highly competitive market with results that are beyond the ordinary," said Guy Broadhurst, Senior Vice President, Product Marketing, Océ North America, Inc. Commercial Printing Division.
