New Océ PRISMAcolorworks System Manages

Complex Workflow for Digital Color Printing

Enabled by CREO Color Server technology for maximum performance

May 30, 2008 Trumbull, CT; Düsseldorf, Germany–Océ, an international leader in digital document management and delivery, announces the Océ PRISMAcolorworksä output management and workflow system, which gives the Océ ColorStreamä 10000 customers fast, efficient, cost-effective management of their digital color printing. The new Océ ColorStream 10000 front end is enabled by CREOâ Color Server technology.

Color print job creation and production involve a complex interplay of multiple applications and data. Océ PRISMAcolorworks software provides an end-to-end system for designing, composing and producing personalized print output for the Océ ColorStream 10000 system. It supports a broad range of popular graphic arts applications such as books, brochures, direct marketing pieces and promotional collateral. The Océ PRISMAcolorworks system accelerates production and increases reliability. Print operations achieve greater levels of workflow automation, which translate into faster turnaround and more productivity.

The Océ ColorStream 10000 continuous feed, full-color digital press made its worldwide debut at the 2007 Graph Expo show, where it won a prestigious Must See ‘Em award. Developed for the Graphic Arts market, the system extends the Océ Job Appropriate Colorâ strategy to high quality full-process color. The digital press prints 172 full-color images per minute (ipm) and can support more than five million full-color, letter-size images a month. Black and white and highlight color capabilities further support users’ unique application requirements. The unique combination of high quality, full-color and monochrome flexibility, continuous feed productivity, dynamic pricing, and production speed opens new opportunities for digital color in the Graphic Arts marketplace.

Along with high-speed printing support, superb color management and image processing,

CREO Color Servers feature full connectivity into many industry graphic arts workflow systems. Customers can seamlessly integrate and manage both their offset and digital workflows, enabling an easier transition to high-speed digital color production.

“Océ continuously enhances its solutions through alliances with industry leaders in complementary technologies,” said Guy Broadhurst, Vice President Product Marketing, Océ North America, Production Printing Systems. “Océ PRISMAcolorworks software underscores our commitment to meeting the needs of graphic arts customers for high quality workflow and production.”

“The strategic cooperation between Océ and Print On-Demand Solutions Group leverages our advanced server capabilities in digital imaging, color management and commercial print workflow optimization. This opens up the tremendous potential of the Océ ColorStream 10000 system to graphic arts customers and print service providers who have been waiting for the productivity such a system can offer,” said Ilana Jucha, General Manager of CREO Branded Products. “We see this as further acknowledgment of CREO Color Server leadership in high performance digital print workflows.”
