Whitehill Technologies launches Transform
Suite
Data transformation software extracts critical business
information locked in specific output formats
MONCTON, NB, Canada - October 6, 2004 - Whitehill Technologies,
Inc., a provider of leading document composition and data
transformation software that enables insurance, legal and financial
companies to accelerate key businesses processes, today announced the
launch of
Whitehill Transform Suite.
Whitehill Transform Suite enables businesses to extract data
locked in a specific output format and transform it into a more
useful, flexible format. Most large organizations have documents,
such as invoices, statements and reports, trapped in legacy output
formats. This severely limits output options, making it difficult to
access the information, limiting its integration with other data, and
preventing its distribution to the people who need it.
Whitehill Transform Suite is key to helping organizations
integrate legacy content, accelerate their business processes, manage
their enterprise content and satisfy end-users of the information.
For insurance companies, Whitehill improves client communication,
accelerates product distribution and enables and empowers the sales
channel. Financial services companies can reduce client churn, create
cross-selling opportunities and drive new product development; and
legal firms can shorten the work-to-cash cycle, enhance billing and
reporting processes, and maximize attorney billable time.
Whitehill will be demonstrating Whitehill Transform Suite at two
upcoming events: Xplor (www.xplor2004.org), October 24-28, Booth
#1074, at the Dallas Convention Center, Dallas, TX; and LOMA Emerging
Technology Conference (www.loma.org/emcfall.asp), October 20-22,
Booth #51, at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Washington, D.C.
"Whitehill Transform Suite is a simple toolset that fixes a
widespread industry problem," said Paul McSpurren, president and CEO
of Whitehill. "The software is a quick way to accelerate business
processes, whether used as a stand-alone tool, or as the extraction
component of our complete product line, which can then automatically
take the data, integrate it with other information and distribute it
to the people who need it."
Whitehill's entire line of software products includes Whitehill
xml-Transport and Whitehill Enterprise. Whitehill automates key
back-office business processes, reducing costs and improving
decision-making. The software provides customers with a broader
ability to effectively archive, present, print and exchange valuable
business information. All Whitehill software is non-disruptive, with
no downtime or implications to the network.
The output challenge
In industries where effective customer communications drive new
revenues, high-output documents are coded for output in a particular
print stream format. Information such as where to place the ink or
toner for the resulting text or image to appear correctly is
communicated to the printer in the form of a Print Description
Language (PDL). There are several PDLs, and not every printer
understands every PDL. Each of the major printer manufacturers has
developed their own PDLs. For example, Xerox created Metacode and
LCDS (Line Conditioned Data Stream) and IBM has AFP (Advanced
Function Presentation). To alter a document's format or rules
requires time-consuming, manual intervention. In some cases, the
original source code is lost over the years, making it extremely
difficult to make changes.
"Transform Suite helps organizations automate very costly manual
processes, and allows different information from a variety of
applications to be integrated. It also helps them respond to demands
from customers, partners and internal audiences to access business
information electronically through databases, e-mail or the Web,"
said McSpurren.
Features
Whitehill Transform Suite offers a variety of additional features
that enable more effective data management:
- Print-file splitting permits bursting of large print documents
into smaller, more accessible sections, allowing companies to print
only the precise information they are looking for.
- Output streams can be sent to multiple destinations during one
processing pass, presenting significant time savings. Copies of a
statement can be sent to a variety of parties simultaneously instead
of having to trigger multiple separate send-outs.
- A document indexing feature selects and extracts pertinent
metadata from the print-stream, allowing valuable information to be
indexed, such as the sender, receiver, follow-up status, key fields
such as monetary value of an invoice, and more. This indexed data is
stored and is fully searchable.
