Group 1 Introduces Data Quality
Industry's
First Web Services Architecture
Universal Coder Provides Global
Address Verification within
a Single API
LANHAM, Md., Aug. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Group 1 Software (Nasdaq:
GSOF) today announced the release of its new Universal Coder, the first product
built on Group 1's new LESLIE architecture. LESLIE enables organizations to
integrate Group 1's data quality services seamlessly across the enterprise. The
Universal Coder incorporates Group 1's industry-leading address validation,
correction and standardization technologies for over 220 countries and
dependencies worldwide.
LESLIE is a platform-independent enterprise data quality architecture. By
utilizing this unified product architecture, Group 1's data quality solutions
can be more easily integrated, configured and maintained, including their use in
a Web Services architecture. Through this highly extensible, consistent single
point of integration, companies will be able to integrate more quickly these key
data quality functions into third-party applications, legacy applications and
data repositories.
Group 1's new Universal Coder, built upon LESLIE, provides unparalleled
flexibility by letting organizations implement global address data quality in
their own enterprises, or even access this functionality via hosted services
using the same API. The Universal Coder is the only address data quality product
on the market that can process global address data in a single pass: mixed data
from any number of countries can be submitted and processed simultaneously. The
Universal Coder supports Java, COM, C, and C++ interfaces and can be easily
integrated into a .NET environment.
"There is an increasing realization that data quality is a fundamental
business requirement for the success of enterprise applications," said Ted
Friedman, principal analyst at Gartner, Inc. "The growing adoption of Web
Services will make it easier to integrate, deploy and maintain data quality
throughout the enterprise."
By providing global address data quality, the Universal Coder enables users
to maximize returns from multinational marketing campaigns by ensuring that
communications actually reach customers and prospects as planned. Additionally,
by utilizing a foundation of valid data, users can more easily develop an
accurate, single customer view, thereby increasing the return from CRM
initiatives.
"With the growing adoption of Web Services, permitting software
components to be delivered over Internet standard technologies, it is
increasingly important that vendors provide compatible technologies," said
Bob Bowen, CEO of Group 1 Software. "The LESLIE architecture offers rapid,
seamless integration of our leading data quality solutions into mission-critical
applications."
The Universal Coder is currently available on NT and Unix, including Sun
Solaris, HP UX, AIX and Linux. In the coming months, Group 1 anticipates
migrating its core data quality applications to this advanced new architecture.
