Newton, MA -- January 18, 2010 -- Lyra Research, the digital imaging authority (www.lyra.com), will hold its 13th annual Imaging Symposium on January 25-27, 2010 at the Rancho Las Palmas Resort and Spa in Rancho Mirage, California. The 2010 Lyra Imaging Symposium (www.lyra.com/symposium) will highlight the role that Managed Print Services (MPS) is playing in the digital imaging industry's "road to recovery." As part of the Symposium's MPS coverage, Tom Codd, head of HP's IPG Managed Print Services for the Managed Enterprise Solutions Group, will provide the keynote address: Changing the Economics of Technology through Managed Print Services.

Specifically, Mr. Codd's presentation will explain why it is critical for companies to accelerate growth and manage the bottom line as they navigate today's challenging economy. He will focus on MPS, explaining how it represents a tremendous opportunity for customers and technology providers alike. Mr. Codd also will provide insight regarding how HP is helping its customers reduce costs, improve business processes, and meet their environmental goals.

As head of IPG Managed Print Services for the Managed Enterprise Solutions Group at HP, Mr. Codd is responsible for managing a team that focuses on solutions and services product marketing, enterprise environmental initiatives, brand management, new product introduction planning, delivery of outbound marketing content, and development of an integrated enterprise segment marketing strategy.

"Companies are relying heavily on MPS as the digital imaging industry travels down the 'road to recovery.' For this reason, we felt it was extremely important to devote part of the Symposium agenda to this hot topic," said Charles LeCompte, president and founder of Lyra Research.

Other MPS discussions to be featured at the conference include:

  • Managed Print Services: The Next Chapter-Cortney Kasuba, Lyra senior analyst, will discuss how the economy is fueling the growth of MPS, the shift from "boxes" to pages to solutions, and the need for ink jet devices to be captured and monitored. Ms. Kasuba's presentation will be followed by a lively MPS panel discussion featuring the following digital imaging industry executives:
    • Tom Codd, head of HP's IPG Managed Print Services, Managed Enterprise Solutions Group;
    • Brian Cosgrove, chairman and CEO, PrintFleet;
    • Jim Fitzpatrick, manager, Managed Print Services Operations, Oki Data Americas, Inc., and president, Managed Print Services Association (MSPA);

    • Barney Kister, senior vice president of sales operations, Supplies Network;
    • Rakesh Mahajan, president and CEO, Netaphor Software; and

The Road to Making MPS Work...Better-Barney Kister, senior vice president of sales operations for Supplies Network, will examine how the partners-equipment manufacturers, data-collection providers, wholesale distributors, back-office providers, resellers/dealers, and end users-in the MPS relationship can work together to help MPS evolve and work better.
