Kodak Honors Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD) For Document Management Success During AIIM On Demand 2008
Desktop scanners enable human services agency to manage thousands of tax files digitally
BOSTON, Mar. 5-For the more than 100,000 low income families in greater Boston, Action for Boston Community Development, Inc. (ABCD) has been a catalyst for positive change. During an event at Symphony Hall on Tuesday, Kodak honored ABCD for its use of digital document management tools that have helped ABCD create success for people and their neighborhoods. Kodak and W.B. Mason, an office equipment reseller, presented ABCD with a $2,000 check and a KODAK SCANMATE i1120 Scanner.

"With the use of document management, we can more efficiently facilitate and administer our resources, services and programs to help the most people possible."
ABCD finds document management especially helpful during tax season when the agency assists nearly 4,000 people with filing their taxes. At each of the agency's 13 neighborhood centers, volunteers use desktop scanners for quickly transforming raw data into digital records to efficiently manage and retrieve electronic files during tax season and beyond.
Effective document management has helped ABCD to streamline its paperwork and enable low income families and neighborhoods to get critical resources faster. ABCD has improved the lives of thousands through its thriving programs which are focused on education, skilled job training and asset development.
