Kern Announces Two New High-Speed Cutting Systems

GROVE CITY, OH., January 7, 2008 - Kern, Inc., provider of world-class inserting systems and production mail solutions has announced two new high-speed cutting systems designed to improve the productivity of its inserting systems for higher page-count applications. The two new products, the K100 and the K999s have the capability to produce over 72,000 and 88,000 letter-sized sheets per hour from continuous form fanfold or roll input.

The K100 uses a patented design to handle pin-less material input and the K999s uses a streamlined design that moves paper through a reliable and consistent air-guided accumulation system at speeds of over 12 feet per second.

"The K999s was designed for the North American market and is a perfect fit for customers with higher page applications", said Todd Russell, Senior Vice President, General Manager. "A Kern 3500 will be able to slit, merge, cut, accumulate, fold, and insert up to 22,000 four-page mailpieces per hour - the fastest in its class." Thomas Brock, CEO added, "The K100 is our first global offering in a series of technology breakthroughs you can expect from Kern as we continue in our mission to prove the most advanced solutions to enable our customers to be successful in theirs."

Kern, Inc. is headquartered in Grove City, Ohio and Toronto, Ontario, Canada
