PALO ALTO, Calif., March 11, 2008 – HP today announced that it has received the 2007 Industry Award of NAPL,the not-for-profit management association for business excellence in the printing and graphic communications industry. Matt Bruns, North America business development, HP, accepted the award during NAPL’s Top Management Conference held today in Orlando, Fla.

The NAPL Industry Award is bestowed annually to a graphic arts manufacturer or supplier in recognition of their contributions to the advancement of the industry. With this award, the NAPL Awards Committee has formally acknowledged the significant benefits the graphic communications industry has realized from HP’s exceptional efforts in the areas of product and technology innovation, ongoing research and development and longstanding commitment to industry communication and education.

“HP is honored to accept the distinguished 2007 NAPL Industry Award,” said Francis McMahon, marketing director, U.S. Graphic Arts Business, HP. “At HP, we strive to offer our customers not only the most extensive graphic arts portfolio available, but also innovative digital printing solutions that revolutionize the industry and help maximize their profits and success.”

NAPL was founded in 1933 as a not-for-profit trade association with the mission to help companies in the printing and graphic communications industry remain on the leading edge of innovation and profitably. The organization began presenting the NAPL Industry Award in 1967 to first-class companies for their meaningful contributions to the industry.

“HP has become a key contributor to the advancement of the graphic arts industry and has shown a great dedication to delivering quality goods and services,” said Joseph Truncale, President and CEO, NAPL. “NAPL is pleased to award HP with the 2007 Industry Award in recognition of their commitment to this industry and to maintaining an excellent reputation.”

HP and HP customer applications have been honored with several recent awards and honors in the graphic arts industry. In the 2008 DIMA Digital Printer ShootOut, HP won several awards for the quality of its photo output using the HP Indigo press 5500, the HP Designjet Z6100 Photo Printer, the HP Designjet Z3100 Photo Printer and HP Vivera 70 and 91 pigment inks. On March 4, 2008, HP’s first full-scale transpromotional printing installation, at Israeli firm Oniya Shapira, was the basis for the 2008 Technology Application of the Year award from industry association Xplor International.
