Sydney, Australia – 15 August 2011 – Fuji Xerox Australia today celebrates the 60th order of its Color 800/1000 Digital Press - a high speed printing press incorporating the latest print and dry ink technology, aimed to bridge the divide between digital and offset printing. Fuji Xerox Australia has installed 56 Color 800 and 1000 Presses, with a further four ordered and ready for installation.
The first installation of the Color 800/1000 Press took place in July 2010 at Dashing Print in Sydney, and has since developed a reputation around the print industry as a leader in digital print technology; enabling customers to expand their market reach and enhance print quality at the same time. Just over a year later, Fuji Xerox Australia installed the 50th press at Forms Express, a Victorian business offering printed and electronic solutions and products.
Andrew Powell, Forms Express General Manager, said, “We wanted a high resolution, high quality solution that could print speeds of up to 100 sheets per minute. Fuji Xerox’s digital press was the only option in the market that met our need for reliability and high print quality. The installation of the press has enabled us to print daily short-run billing sheets and full colour statements, all at extremely fast turnaround times.”
This sentiment is shared by Bill Shaw, Director at Express Digital Print in Sydney. “I think the speed of the machine is one benefit we really weren’t expecting,” said Shaw. “We knew it would be fast, but just didn’t think it would be that quick. The speed, plus the fact that the machine is so robust and reliable, means we can take on more work with the confidence we can get through it quickly. Plus the applications available on the Color 800 Press are great, such as the Clear Dry Ink. We didn’t really appreciate the varnish application until we had it here.”
Commenting on the Color 800/1000 press, Fuji Xerox Australia’s National Manager for Graphic Communications, Simon Lane, said, “We’re delighted that Australian printers have embraced the offering so quickly. To receive 60 orders in just over a year is a real achievement, and it’s great to see that many of our customers have been extremely satisfied with its capabilities.”
To coincide with the 60th order of the Color 800/1000 Press, Fuji Xerox Australia have announced the winner of its “Who’s No.1 in Self Promotion?” competition which launched in November 2010 for all Color 800/1000 Press customers.
The competition was designed to support customers in the promotion of their new press for their business, while recognising their efforts in promotional activities associated with the press. Scott Print from Perth took home the winning prize of $10,000 for excellent demonstration of the press capabilities.
“Scott Print’s entry was the clear winner,” said judge Mike O’Rourke, Creative Group Head of Belgiovane Williams MacKay. “They took customers on a fun journey using the print material. The invite, the event that showcased the printer and the follow up material, all integrated nicely with a high level of production and art direction,” he said.
