FP Mailing Solutions Launches FPi-5500 Folding & Inserting Series
ADDISON, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--FP Mailing Solutions, a world-class mailroom solutions provider, announced today the introduction of its FPi-5500 folding and inserting equipment series for crisp folds and complete, correct envelope insertions.
FPi-5500 is easy to use, with a full-color adjustable touch screen, simple operation, and intuitive programming. It’s fast, filling up to 4,000 envelopes per hour. Save as many as 25 frequently-used job settings for instant retrieval. Select the Fill & Start function to automatically measure envelopes and documents, make correct fold settings, and start the job. Monitoring functions ensure that every envelope is correctly and completely filled. Its modular design lets you configure this system for two to six stations or tailor it for your specific solution.

The patented Power Fold feature of the FPi-5500 series enables single-folds of up to 10 sheets of paper and z- or letter-folds up to 8 sheets. Divert & Go automatically diverts incorrect document sets out of the processing stream, without stopping the machine. When used with the optional Optical Mark Reading (OMR) system, this diverts specified documents to an integrated collection station so the production line keeps moving.
Configure the precision-engineered FPi-5500 series with two, four, or six optional automatic feeder stations. Multi-Function Feeder Stations feed documents or supplements – flyers, postcards, return envelopes, brochures, etc. – for insertion. Variofeed Stations process various documents or envelope-size inserts. Special Stations include a manual material separation setting to handle heavier items such as glossy brochures and special mail articles. The Maxifeeder offers maximum capacity for up to 1,200 sheets of 20lb. paper or 325 return envelopes or brochures. Flex Stations offer customer solutions configured according to your specific needs.
The optional OMR System uses printed marks to automatically identify document sequence and size for processing personalized mailings, flexible supplement control, and exclusion of duplicate copies.
Side-exit and alternative stackers are offered for large volume envelope collection or connection to a postage meter.
Standard features of the FPi-5500 series include semi-automatic envelope adjustment, envelope conveyor-stacker, and a manual top station for daily or mixed mail of varied document sets. Feeder swap automatically switches among feeders – including Maxifeed – to work together for uninterrupted operation while you reload more material. Clamshell design opens completely for easy access to paper flow, allowing quick removal of misfeeds without damaging documents.
