The Document Institute Launches and Represents Acadami in Australasia

25 February 2013, Melbourne, Australia – The Document Institute www.documentinstitute.com has launched, to help transform businesses, people, and the documents they create.  Through education and consulting, the Document Institute works with businesses at each step of the document lifecycle in personalised customer communication management (CCM).

These businesses include:

  • Document Generators – those who need medium to high volume personalised customer communication documents created;
  • Service Providers – printers, mail houses, and service bureaux that actually produce the documents;
  • Vendors – those providing the hardware and software that enable the documents to be designed, produced, and delivered; as well as
  • Postal Organisations and other facilitators of document delivery, both physical and electronic.
The Document Institute grew out of Dashwood Consulting, an Australian company formed in early 2008 to provide technology, training, and consultative business services supporting effective communication through documents and the web.

“For too long our desire to help when we saw an opportunity, has stretched us too thin.  Instead of continuing to be everything to everyone, this restructure, refocus, and rebranding as the Document Institute will show the market that we are focusing on our core competencies.  These areas of expertise have been developed during decades in the electronic document systems and printing industries, here in Australia, New Zealand, and Asia, as well as the rest of the world.  It’s what we’re good at”, said Brett Dashwood, the Document Institute’s managing director.

Representing Acadami

The timing of this launch reflects the end of negotiations and the Document Institute’s recent appointment as the regional representative of Acadami (www.acadami.org) – the global education company that specialises in developing and delivering internationally accredited content specifically for transaction document specialists.  This includes workshops and courses such as Transaction Document Specialist, Transaction Document Professional, and a growing number of related Advanced courses.

Bill Broddy, the President of Acadami, is making his way to Australia in early March, when Mr Dashwood and Mr Broddy will meet with select industry leaders in Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore, to discuss the local market and how these courses will fit into the local industry landscape.

“We are very proud that our small team of industry veteran facilitators, instructors, and consultants, have been selected amongst the elite deemed appropriate to deliver and co-develop localised content for these speciality industry courses. We look forward to working with Acadami, Xplor International, and others on the continued education of those within our industry”, says Dashwood.

During 2013, the Document Institute intends to run multiple public courses of the Acadami content in Australia, initially in Melbourne and Sydney.  Like other Acadami representative locations around the world (Canada, USA, UK), this will be complemented by company specific versions of the courses as needed.  Based on market demand, delivery of public and custom courses will then expand into other Australian cities, New Zealand, and Asia.

In addition to managing the transformation of many document solutions, consulting on a wide range of industry activities, and presenting at various industry events, the past few years, Dashwood Consulting has been developing and delivering their own customised content for clients, covering many technical, process, and business related areas within the industry.  The Document Institute will continue to develop and offer these tailored solutions for customers.  “By focusing on education and consulting activities based around personalised customer communication, we can work with companies to help develop their staff with internationally accredited content, while also helping them to reduce the reinvention of the wheel that we so commonly see”.

Whether the documents produced are high volume transactional output (HVTO) – such as bills, statements, and invoices - regulatory and governance documents, complex data-driven direct marketing, and whether printed or electronic, the Document Institute can assist businesses with everything from data to delivery.
