Compart Extends Support for IPDS

[Böblingen, 11. April 2011]

Compart, an internationally operative provider of scalable and platform-independent Output Management Systems (OMS), is extending its support for IPDS (Intelligent Printer Data Stream), the most frequently used print data stream in black and white transaction printing. The IPDS driver, which is under continuous development, supports more operating systems than ever before; in addition to the standard platforms such as Windows and Linux, this also includes UNIX platforms such as Solaris and AIX. Upon request, Compart can also extend the operating system support to include further platforms.

The IPDS driver from Compart, based on most recent technologies, closes the gap between any printable file and the IPDS printer. Documents from any origin can be directly sent to digital printers, if they support the IPDS protocol. A third-party software does not have to be interconnected. In this way, customers who want to use Compart products alongside IPDS printers, gain a comprehensive solution: It can both read the printable files and control the digital printer. With this extended development, Compart is tapping into an important market segment as IPDS devices are widely used around the world.

Furthermore, the solution offers a high level of performance and a wide range of error handling functions. This in turn guarantees the printer an average printing speed of 1400 pages per minute, depending on the document type to be printed. Furthermore, it guarantees extremely high process control for professional printing operations. With this extended development, Compart is tapping into an important market segment as IPDS devices are widely used around the world.

Background information on Compart

Compart is a leading manufacturer of scalable and platform-independent software solutions for the processing and optimisation of documents and data streams from different sources and all standard output channels.

The DocBridge® product range allows for a flexible and efficient processing of high-volume flows of data and documents – these can be used for the output on necessary output channels such as printers, archives, emails, hybrid email solutions or web-portals. These include solutions for the optimisation and conversion of document formats or their modification, the display of these documents, and the comparison of documents with the same content but a different format.

Due to the high vertical range of production and independence from operating systems, Compart products also meet high requirements in terms of reproduction quality, performance and platform independence. Therefore, Compart products support almost all standard system platforms, from Windows to UNIX or z/OS in the mainframe market segment.

Compart solutions are used in medium and large-scale companies across all industries. The implementation and maintenance of these solutions is guaranteed through an accompanying offer of support and consultation services as well as project management from its subsidiary companies Compart Deutschland GmbH, Compart North America Inc., Compart Iberia S.L., Compart Nordic ApS., Compart France S.A.S. and a number of partners.
