Broddy and McCalpin of acadami are among first Master EDPs awarded by Xplor International

Richardson, Texas, February 1, 2010
acadami is pleased to announce that two of its three founding members have earned the new Master Electronic Document Professional (M-EDP) designation from Xplor International, Bill Broddy, Master EDP in Business Planning, and William J. ‘Bill’ McCalpin, Master EDP in Print Streams. This designation is part of the new EDP program, which has seen the EDA (Electronic Document Associate) and the M-EDP designations added to the long-running EDP (Electronic Document Professional) program.

Master Electronic Document Professional

Master EDPs are the recognized experts on specific technologies, processes, or management skills. For example, a Master may have co-developed a composition or print stream transform system. Another might be the expert on print costing, or statement design. By earning their Master EDP, they are clearly recognized as one of the go to people in the industry.

To earn the Master EDP, a candidate must have been in the industry for at least 10 years, have been an EDP for at least 5 years, and be able to prove their area of expertise through published material.  As their Masterworks, William McCalpin m-edp submitted his pilot CEU course “How Print Streams Enable Best of Breed Statements”, and William Broddy m-edp submitted his pilot CEU course “High Speed Color Printing Acquisition Strategies”.

“We are delighted to be part of the inaugural group of Master EDPs designated by Xplor International,” said William J. ‘Bill’ McCalpin, acadami’s registrar and co-founder. “We feel that this designation validates our skills and experience in the industry.”

acadami has three courses certified by Xplor International, and the new designations earned by Bill [McCalpin] and myself are further proof in Xplor’s confidence in the acadami program to deliver certified professional instruction in the electronic document space,” says Bill Broddy, former vice-chair of the EDP Commission and acadami provost. “We look forward to helping bring forth a new crop of EDAs and EDPs through acadami’s professional education program.”

Broddy and McCalpin will join the inaugural class of Master EDPs who will be formally inducted on March 17, 2010, at the 2010 Xplor Global Document Conference & Vendor Forum in St. Petersburg, Florida.
