Sefas Innovation Joins AFP Color Consortium

As an international leader in document composition and management, Sefas will participate in the refinement of industry-wide color standards and further the promotion of world-class technologies

BURLINGTON, MA – October 01, 2008 – Sefas Innovation, a leading publisher of document composition and production management software is pleased to announce that it has joined the AFP Color Consortium, a global workgroup of top businesses from the document processing industry dedicated to promoting an industry-wide AFP architecture for accurate and consistent output of color across different AFP devices and in diverse production environments. Sefas will join over 30 other leading organizations to jointly define, develop and promote common color architecture.

“Sefas Innovation supported the first high speed, full color digital printers in the transactional marketplace and has been a leader in platform development for almost 20 years,” explains Bruno Henry, Chief Operating Officer of Sefas.  "We feel that joining other industry leaders, many of whom are Sefas partners, reflects our commitment to provide customers with world-class technologies that enable better, faster, cheaper, and greener communication channels.”

The AFP architecture is used by organizations worldwide for the high speed printing of bills, statements and other customer communications. The AFP Color Consortium was created by IBM as a forum for industry leaders to work collaboratively to define the color management portion of the popular printing protocol.

In 2006, the consortium released an open color standard which is now adopted as a way to develop device-independent color applications and production workflows. Sefas will participate in the continued refinement of the standard and provide perspective as a trusted international provider of enterprise document processing solutions.

"Sefas has always taken great pride in producing and handling color with quality and performance in mind,” says Hervé Collin, Vice President of Operations for Sefas. Collin is responsible for deploying Sefas' technology in North America, and is a keen supporter of industry-wide collaboration. “As demand grows for color applications, the industry is ready for a more coordinated and integrated approach. This will eventually benefit all end users and I am proud that Sefas will contribute to building the future of color applications."

Sefas provides flexible and robust systems for document composition, document enhancement and production management through its Open Print software suite. The platform is easy to deploy and is capable of accommodating very high production volumes. Collaborative document design, interactive document production, print stream enhancement, and post-production optimization are hallmark abilities of the Open Print suite. By participating in the AFP Color Consortium, Sefas will continue its dedication to the development and marketing of first class products that bring new and beneficial abilities to customers worldwide.
