Revolutionary new software enables business users to personalise multi-channel communications rather than IT
Bristol, April 26, 2011 - Sefas Innovation is showing its latest software - Open Print Version 7 – at Northprint in Harrogate (10-12 May, 2011). The new software challenges printers and print bureaus, as well as end-user organisations, to think about how they approach managing change in their customer communication and document production processes. The new software takes the capabilities associated with composing documents to become available in a post-composition environment - without the need of heavy IT- scripting skills. Open Print allows functions such as multi-channel distribution, colour management, white space management, application merging and batching, and image manipulation to become more accessible. It enables users to easily and cost-effectively create personalised customer communications.
Organisations are able to improve their documents’ content, vary their distribution channels, control their brand and regulatory integrity and add production control marks without having to make changes to the data sources. Suddenly composition is no longer about starting from scratch every time and being associated with long, costly IT projects - it can now be in the hands (and the minds) of the business users.
Open Print’s easy-to-use interface effectively eliminates the need for technical scripting skills when creating and enhancing personalised customer documents, including transactional correspondence such as bills, statements, quotations and letters or complex direct mail pieces. It enables line-of-business users to easily create, manipulate and output transpromotional (Transpromo) messages and deliver them across multiple channels.
Giles Hill, General Manager, Sefas UK said: “There’s no doubt that the cost of producing and maintaining personalised customer communications within large organisations is significant. The processes involved are usually manual, resource-intensive and inefficient. We’ve designed our new Open Print V7 platform to help businesses drastically reduce these costs and make significant process improvements through automation, whilst at the same time making their customer communications more personalised – and valuable.”
Hill adds, “By enabling business users and operators to change the look and appearance of the customer correspondence, significant time is saved - allowing businesses a speedier time to market and print service providers a faster migration of documents - and improved cash flow.”
Open Print V7 provides organisations with the ability to utilise a single platform to manage the delivery of content across each channel – from traditional print-based communications to email, SMS text and the Web. It offers unprecedented levels of control and flexibility, allowing users from various departments across an organisation to control the entire document workflow - from design to distribution - and easily and rapidly insert Transpromo communications as part of their multi-channel campaigns.
At the heart of Sefas’ solution is a unique shared repository that enables users to make a ‘once only’ change to a document which is then automatically rolled out across all appropriate media. “This makes personalised customer communications easier, faster, better and cheaper,” added Giles Hill.
Open Print Version 7 features new Document Workshop and Production Workshop environments. The former provides unified management of all documents at the front end of the supply chain, while the latter provides visibility and control for the back end of the supply chain, enabling efficient production, tracking and distribution. The addition of a new Output Management module provides comprehensive capability to configure output rendering options and specify standard or custom impositions as well as enabling a vast array of optimisation possibilities.
Open Print has helped Innovative Output Solutions (IOS), one of the world’s largest digital colour bureaus, to achieve significant competitive advantage in its document production environment. Malcolm Webb, Head of Business Development Sales at IOS said: “Sefas’s Open Print is totally flexible and scalable, which means we can provide all the print and online output technologies our customers demand today, and in the future. We are able to maintain our track record of delivering innovative, results-driven applications for some of the country’s best known companies.
