As 2012 drew to a close, innovative national communications provider, iGroup Australia, and respected essential mailing and distribution house, Dynamic Direct, were penning a deal that would see the merger of the two organisations to create a powerhouse for essential and direct marketing communications in Victoria.
The unification of the two Melbourne businesses brings over 50 years of collective experience together on one site, with a significant capacity increase in all operational facets and expanded suite of solutions.
The merger allows iGroup and Dynamic Direct to become a formidable competitor in the essential and direct communications space, and for those customers with multi-channel, National and Eastern Seaboard distribution requirements.
The Victorian merger has been the subject of discussion for several years, however Alan Read, CEO of Dynamic Direct, says it couldn’t have come at a better time, “It’s a wonderful success story in the print and mail space. Consolidating our Melbourne footprint will bring renewed strength and vigour to both organisations that can only benefit our clients and their customers”.
Paul Tannous, Managing Director of iGroup Australia, says, “While increased capacity was a huge drawcard for us, the real clincher was the ability to apply Dynamic Direct’s 25 years of Melbourne market experience and insights to leverage iGroup’s experience and investment in forward-thinking digital, web and telemarketing initiatives”.
The combined businesses will occupy Dynamic Direct’s purpose-built facility from 4 February 2013. iGroup Australia and Dynamic Direct shared a significant commonality of existing clients and while the move will not significantly impact these clients in the short term, the medium to long term is expected to provide clients with efficiencies and economies of scale, as well as the potential for increased marketing effectiveness, with Dynamic Direct’s clients enjoying ready access to iGroup’s suite of multi-channel marketing initiatives.
The merger impacts iGroup’s Melbourne operations only, however both organisations are excited by the opportunity to explore synergies, technologies and ideas, “We have big plans for 2013 and beyond”, say Read and Tannous.
“We’ve made a substantial investment in digital colour and the associated integrated communications software,” says Tannous, “However the real success story is Moxii”. Moxii, iGroup’s emerging multi-channel marketing campaign performance enhancer, extends the reach of marketing campaigns beyond the initial recipient by harnessing the power of 300 social media networks, email and SMS. Further expansionary plans for the merged companies will extend to marketing communications using personalised video.
