Telepress CEO Darren Loken Installed as New NAPL Chairman

Nigel Worme Becomes Association Vice Chairman, Niels Winther Elected Secretary/Treasurer

East Rutherford, N.J. (September 21, 2011) — Darren Loken, President and Chief Executive Officer of Telepress, Seattle, Wash., was installed as Chairman of the Board of the National Association for Printing Leadership (NAPL) during the association’s Annual Meeting on Sept. 11, 2011, in Chicago, Ill.

Joining him as new NAPL officers are former NAPL Secretary/Treasurer Nigel Worme, Managing Director & Chairman of COT Printery, Christ Church, Barbados, who has become Vice Chairman, and Niels Winther, Chairman and Co-Owner, Think Patented, Dayton, Ohio, elected Secretary/Treasurer. Keith Kemp, President, Xerographic Digital Printing, Orlando, Fla., now serves as Immediate Past Chairman. Each officer is scheduled to serve a two-year term in his new position.

Three NAPL members were also installed as new Directors at the Annual Meeting: Andrew Field, Chief Executive Officer, PrintingForLess.com, Livingston, Mont.; Ann Porster, President/Chief Financial Officer, Grand River Printing & Imaging, Belleville, Mich.; and Tom Saggiomo, Chief Executive Officer, DG3, Jersey City, N.J.

“NAPL has been fortunate over the years to be able to call upon leading company executives who are willing to volunteer their time and dedicate their considerable talents to serve the association and its industry education efforts. This year is clearly no exception, and NAPL and its members will benefit greatly from the leadership skills of Darren, Nigel, and Niels, as well as the insights of our newest Board members,” said NAPL President and Chief Executive Officer Joseph P. Truncale, Ph.D.

“I am honored to become NAPL Chairman and follow in the leadership footsteps of Keith Kemp, who has done such an outstanding job during a time of difficult economic conditions in our industry,” said Loken. “I look forward to working with my fellow officers, members of the NAPL Board, our association staff, and our members to continue the tradition of industry service that has been an NAPL hallmark for more than 75 years.”

A graduate of Seattle Pacific University, Darren Loken began his career in print sales. In 1992 he founded a mailing service company, which was sold in 1997, and then joined Valco Graphics to start its mailing and fulfillment division. He was President and Chief Executive Officer of Valco when it was sold to Cenveo, and then became General Manager of Cenveo’s Seattle, Wash., facility. He is currently President and Chief Executive Officer of Telepress, a 33-year-old printing company that provides corporate identity products to companies in the Fortune 1000.

Nigel Worme is Managing Director and Chairman of COT Printery, flagship of the five-company COT Media Group, which was founded in 1975 and currently provides a complete communications solution to clients, utilizing innovation in print, design, music distribution, publishing, and marketing effectiveness technologies and services.

Chairman and Co-Owner of Think Patented, Niels Winther has held positions as President or Chief Executive Officer in several major firms, including Heidelberg USA Inc., Baumfolder, and the East Asiatic Company, and has been a Board member in dozens of other companies throughout his career. He holds an Honorary Doctorate of Business and Industry from Ferris State University, a B.A. in Business Administration from EAC’s Commercial School, and a Commercial Degree from the Commercial and Merchant School of Denmark in Copenhagen.
