National Pension Office implements innovative software from Inventive Designers for document management
Inventive Designers strengthens its position in public sector
Brussels / Antwerp, 27 February 2007 – The National Pension Office, a public social security institution, has selected the technology from Inventive Designers to improve its output management. The ‘Scriptura’ software from Inventive Designers was introduced as the standard solution for the generation of various pension documents to provide 1,800,000 pensioners with the necessary documents.
The National Pension Office is a federal social security institution, responsible for informing the public about pensions and for awarding and paying those pensions. The organization has a central office in Brussels and 15 regional offices across the country. The government institution generates millions of pages every year.
A government order for knowledge management - a matter that actually falls outside the core business of the company - lies at the basis of the contract with Inventive Designers. Inventive Designers has nonetheless been successful in winning the output management contract from the National Pension Office.
The organization wanted a solution that could satisfy the set requirements perfectly. Marc Leunens, Advisor-general for patrimony management at the National Pension Office explains: “We wanted a document solution with a user-friendly interface that can implement information from existing templates with multi-lingual possibilities and a strong performance for more than 1,400 simultaneous users. The new system must allow ‘post processing’, be able to be used in a separate test and development environment and offer the possibility of being able to use different versions in a production environment based on a single sign-on”
The organization found this solution in the Scriptura software from Inventive Designers. Because Scriptura is software that is based on standards, it can be used in any IT environment and can meet future company needs more quickly. The National Pension Office is a public institution for social security whose most important orders are: 1) informing the public about questions concerning pensions for employees and guaranteed income for parents, 2) allocating old age and widow pensions as well as the guaranteed income for parents, 3) paying pensions to employees and self-employed people, as well as the guaranteed income for parents, certain subsidies to elderly disabled people and the interests coming from the previous finance systems for pensions through capitalization.
