Joke Dehond first Belgian Electronic Document Professional

Joke Dehond first Belgian Electronic Document Professional

Antwerp - April, 24, 2006 – Joke Dehond has achieved the title of Electronic Document Professional (EDP) as first Belgian and as second European woman. The EDP title is a prestigious title in the international world of suppliers and users of electronic document systems which is granted yearly to a limited group of people worldwide.

The EDP certification distinguishes individuals who can present a marked experience in electronic document systems. This year’s EDP candidates were announced on the international conference of the professional organization Xplor in Miami Beach, US.

Joke Dehond (°1979) can call herself ‘Electronic Document Professional’ as first Belgian and second European woman. The title is yearly awarded by professional organization Xplor to professionals who have demonstrated an exceptional expertise in the field of electronic document systems.  This year Dehond was the only woman on a total of 19 laureates worldwide who was awarded the certificate.

To qualify for the EDP certificate document professionals need to show their knowledge and their experience in the field of electronic document systems by having examples of their work evaluated by a panel of industry experts from around the world. Applicants have to submit several work examples to support their candidacy. These work examples contain an extensive description of some of the recent projects the EDP candidate was involved with. The work examples have to prove the candidate has sufficient knowledge and experience in various aspects of electronic document systems: design and implementation of output systems, legal aspects, technological knowledge etc. The international EDP committee evaluates the candidate’s portfolio and checks if there is sufficient knowledge and experience for certification. The EDP certificate has a validity of five years. During this period an EDP has to recertify by demonstrating a commitment to the electronic document systems industry through continued learning, keeping pace with industry change, and sharing knowledge.

“This is an important recognition both for me, as for Inventive Designers. The EDP certification program recognizes international document professionals.  Although this program is relatively unknown in Belgium, it is a highly rewarded certification in the United States. Moreover the EDP title inspires customer confidence and demonstrates professionalism and commitment to our industry. Hopefully more Belgian document professionals will take interest to apply and we could make the EDP title more widely known in Belgium,” says Joke Dehond.

Joke Dehond obtained a master degree in Computer Science at the University of Antwerp and a certification in ‘Management Fundamentals’ at the University of Antwerp Management School (UAMS). Joke is a Xplor member, the international professional organization for suppliers and users involved with electronic document systems and Professional Member of AIIM, the global organization on Enterprise Content Management. Joke takes actively part in various working groups of VOKA, which include the ‘Innovation Coaching' work group, the 'Plato' project for entrepreneurs and the ‘Globus’ project for international entrepreneurship. She is also a member of the board of directors of the Youth Chamber of VOKA. At Inventive Designers she is responsible for presales and marketing.
