Inventive Designers’ Scriptura wins ´ICT Innovation Award´ for Dexia project

Inventive Designers’ Scriptura wins ´ICT Innovation Award´ for Dexia project

Antwerp/ Genval, 20 November 2006 - With its output solution Scriptura, Inventive Designers has won the ´ICT Innovation Award´ for simplifying and improving document generation at Dexia Bank Belgium.

The ´ICT Innovation Award´ was presented on Friday evening, November 17th, at the annual Grand Gala of Banking & Finance and crowns a project within the Financial Services Industry in the Netherlands and Belux. The ICT project must demonstrate a high degree of innovativeness, be in full accordance with the customer´s wishes and constitute a part of the company´s day-to-day routine.

Scriptura won this prize for renewing the ´document strategy´ at Dexia Bank Belgium. The bank chose Scriptura to simplify the existing heterogeneous and complex print environment and to design, manage and publish documents in a personalised way via such different channels as the internet, print, e-mail and fax, and thus to improve customer communication.

This is already the third time this year that Inventive Designers has captured a prestigious prize with its output solution Scriptura. In February the company received an ´Honorable Mention´ in Miami at the annual Xplor Conference in the category of ´Innovator of the Year´. In May Scriptura was crowned with the ´Best Practice Award for Banking and Financial Services´ at the annual conference of AIIM, the international organisation for Enterprise Content Management (ECM).

Dexia, the second largest financial group in Belgium, prints out around 120,000 online documents every day, while receiving 15,000 account statement inquiries via the online banking application. To that are added another roughly 1.3 million pages of batch prints each month.    Until recently Dexia relied on a complicated and heterogeneous document environment for the production of such documents. Dexia needed growth possibilities in terms of output, therefore seeking a transparent, uniform solution. The new solution also had to allow Dexia to utilise the latest possibilities with respect to output, while leaving the underlying systems untouched.

Dexia chose Scriptura for several reasons. Firstly, with a view to the future the bank resolutely opted for a solution based on open standards. Furthermore, Dexia found the multitude of output formats, combined with the user-friendly design environment in Scriptura, to be wholly convincing. The 24x7 support which Inventive Designers can offer was also an important argument for this business-critical application.

The implementation of Scriptura has permitted Dexia to achieve substantial savings. The costs relating to maintenance and support have been reduced significantly; information is now exchanged more efficiently within the organisation; there is greater flexibility in document management; customer satisfaction has improved noticeably; instead of only printed output, electronic channels (online, e-mail and fax) are now used as well and, thanks to the use of personalised communication, Dexia is getting a greater customer response.
