MALVERN, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--IKON Office Solutions (NYSE:IKN), the world’s largest independent channel for document management systems and services, today announced the availability of the new IKON PowerPro 550 color server for the IKON CPP® 550. The IKON PowerPro 550 was developed exclusively for the IKON CPP 550 with the proprietary technology of CREO Color Servers. The new stand-alone CREO Server is designed by the Print On-Demand Solutions (PODS) group to offer IKON CPP 550 customers an affordable high-end server with advanced features that deliver excellent color capabilities, ease-of-use, quality, and productivity for small commercial printers, central reprographics departments, corporate in-plants, and office/departmental environments.
The IKON PowerPro 550 joins the IKON PowerPro series of CREO Color Servers, which also includes the IKON PowerPro™ 650 for the IKON CPP® 650.

With CREO Color Server’s advanced fusion imaging hardware technology for extra-fast RIP speed, the IKON PowerPro 550 server maximizes efficiency, flexibility and job processing throughout the entire workflow process for light to mid-production printing. The IKON PowerPro 550 server also includes professional imposition tools, automation tools for retaining print defaults for individual jobs, and flexible paper handling and finishing capabilities. These tools are designed for ease of use and deliver accurate, consistent color and excellent image quality. In addition, the intuitive graphical interface and workspace offer both drag-and-drop and right-click functionalities, enabling easier operation for users of all skill levels.
The IKON PowerPro 550 server helps users develop and distribute high-quality, high-impact documents by providing easy-to-use features for high-quality color and VDP. “Out-of-the-box” color settings allow users to make last minute, on-the-fly color corrections such as gradation, brightness, contrast and calibration without the need to re-RIP the entire file, regardless of the desktop application in which it was created.
The IKON PowerPro 550 server also helps streamline document printing workflow for complex jobs such as printing covers, tabs, inserts, interleaves and slip-sheets. In addition, a selection of pre-defined virtual printers and hot folders help channel the job flow according to user preference, while retaining pre-defined job settings for fast turnaround.
The IKON PowerPro 550 color server’s design and graphical user interface are optimized for the IKON CPP 550. Users can set the levels of control and automation to fit their printing environment, and can fully manage the IKON CPP 550 from the server’s workstation.
