Job Position: Network Support Analyst

OSG currently has an exciting opportunity for a Network Support Analyst to join our growing IT Department. The successful candidate will performs routine work assisting in the development, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of the local area network. Working knowledge of routers, firewalls, and switches is a big plus! Work involves network installation, testing, and monitoring of all current hardware, software, and related equipment, in addition to potential enhancements. This position reports to the Network Services Manager.

  1. Assists in maintaining the network's physical and logical structures, including all network connections.
  2. Assists in maintaining the local area network, cable installations, inventories, and other related duties.
  3. Performs routine procedures for backup, recovery, and archival of files stored on the network.
  4. Communicates with vendors, users, management, and network programming staff.
  5. Participate in “Help Desk” functions i.e. “cannot Print”, “application doesn’t work”, “not on network.”
  6. Review system logs for anomalies and bring to mgr based on security.
  7. Document standard procedures; keep up-to-date documentation on installs and application settings.
  8. Orders and maintains toner for local printers.
  9. Setup new pc’s purchased and reinstalls software on existing systems.
  10. Add additional hardware purchased for existing machines.
  11. Recommends enhancements to network facilities.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  1. 3-5 years experience.  Graduate from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in computer science, data processing, or related field is generally preferred. Education and experience may be substituted for one another.
  2. 1-3+ years of applicable experience in local or wide area networks is typically required.  Working knowledge of routers, firewalls, switches, network routing protocols.
  3. Familiarity with networks or telecommunications
  4. Working Knowledge of Symantec products
  5. Working knowledge of Microsoft 2000, 2003, XP, Vista operating systems
  6. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  7. Ability to use graphical software like Photoshop, Illustrator, and Visio is a plus.
  8. Knowledge of network facilities and data processing techniques, of personal computer hardware and software, network operating system and security software, and performance monitoring and capacity management tools.
  9. Ability to recognize, analyzes, and resolves network issues.
