Using Basic N_UP 1
Question:
I have been looking into using basic N_UP. I think I understand the need for N_UP 2, N_UP 3 and N_UP 4 for printing multiple pages on a sheet, but I’m not sure about N_UP 1, which only prints a single page on a single sheet. When would I need to use N_UP 1?
Answer:
Basic N_UP 1 is useful when printing duplex and you want ensure that a certain page type will always print on a specific side of the sheet. For example, if you are printing some type of account statement, with varying page counts per account, with no blank pages to accommodate an even page count for each account, and you want to be sure that the first page of each statement always prints on a front side, then you can apply N_UP 1 using the INVOKE FRONT subcommand for the pageformat and copygroup that are used to format the first page and INVOKE NEXT for the remaining page types.
