For more than fourteen years, Metavante’s (CSF®) document composition software has helped clients create documents that increase productivity and reduce time to market. Metavante’s developers were the pioneers in this market, and we continue to be an innovator with new releases and add-on products based upon changing customer requirements and market demands.
Companies typically licensed CSF for the development of their high-volume, complex, data-driven documents. But, companies needed a tool to produce all of their documents. Metavante listened and developed CSF Designer - one tool for all applications.
Metavante released CSF Designer in May 2002. CSF Designer allows you to create all of your customer communications - bills, statements, notices, letters, direct mail campaigns, brochures, or any other data-driven and text-based documents, in batch or real-time. This tool will enhance marketing capabilities and customer relationships with messaging integration provided within the solution.

DesignerWeb™ is the newest tool in the Metavante CSF suite of products. DesignerWeb provides the advanced messaging features of CSF Designer via a browser-based tool, allowing you to:

Compose message text or edit existing messages with advanced formatting and transaction-driven message content

View, create, and manage business rules for your messages

Provide full work-flow approval of documents via the Web, ensuring compliance and approval procedures are maintained, and that the integrity of your messages are kept intact throughout the various production stages
DesignerWeb is a Web-based tool that gives you access to CSF Designer®, and then, in addition, the ability to share this tool throughout a company with any individual who may have a role in creating or reviewing customer messages.
What brought about the need for this product? Why was this product created?
Time, information, and relationships are the only true competitive marketplace advantages you have as an organization today. Being able to quickly analyze market trends, identify opportunities, and then
create and deliver targeted, personalized communications that capitalize on these opportunities is essential to your marketing success.
However, in order to realize success with your communications, you need a communications tool that allows you to effectively create content with advanced formatting, manage business rules for messaging priorities and campaign dates, and target communications for key customer segments.
This can be difficult. To start, you may have multiple people on cross-functional teams who, at various times throughout the messaging cycle, are making edits or changing your communications – and they may work remotely, making “version control” on your messages difficult. In addition, you may not have
the financial resources you need to provide everyone in your organization with a messaging tool.

Businesses want to bring document composition to new audiences, such as marketing individuals as well as other business owners. Historically, document composition and the design process rested in the hands of back office technical personnel who may have obtained requirements from marketing. This transition streamlines the design process, but also opens the door to having designs change more often than in the past.

CSF DesignerWeb is of value to all organizations that require any customer document production. Customers are demanding software solutions that allow them to control the content and business rules of their statements and correspondence. Companies need technology that can be remotely accessed by personnel via a browser-based, thin-client application to minimize management costs, provide control of software usage and distribution, and reduce training costs. The solutions must allow customers to preview their content in real-time using true “what you see is what you get” production capabilities within the browser. The solution must tie seamlessly to workflow processes to ensure that the user's compliance and approval procedures are maintained and that content is not inadvertently or improperly placed into production.

Our product is the cornerstone of the print and mail environment. Our DesignerWeb product provides users with the means to produce customized output that feeds into printers, producing paper output that then can be sent through various mail and other post processing hardware.
