Sefas software publisher offers a truly end-to-end workflow solution from document composition through to the production management of printed and electronic output.
Sefas Innovation, the subsidiary of Docapost – the operational holding company of Groupe La Poste, are experts in workflow management and business process optimization, and they offer a software suite of fully integrated products, which covers the entire document production process from design to delivery. During Ipex 2010, one could attend an interesting demonstration of Open Print, whose unique architecture and modular approach provides unparalleled flexibility and supports business priorities such as cost down initiatives; improved customer care and retention rates; delivery of transpromotional marketing messages; greater control over brand integrity and improvements in your ability to comply with regulatory requirements.
The modular architecture
“Open Print is built to meet today’s needs of personalized mass communication in business-to-consumer markets, allowing each kind of company or institution to differentiate their own communications in an ever-competitive environment, adding value to the information provided to the customers. It accepts all data, all formats, from all sources in all environments, making it easy to create new documents and enrich old ones,” says Corinne Esteve, marketing director at Sefas.
Sefas software publisher offers a truly end-to-end workflow solution from document composition through to the production management of printed and electronic output. The suite is composed by six software modules within the suite, covering three vertical process steps: Composition; Post Composition (or document re-engineering) and Output Management. The Open Print’s plug and play design is fast to deploy, intuitive to use and leads to immediate productivity improvements and enhanced effectiveness of documentation; it’s particularly effective in large, complex, high volume scenarios.
“Sefas Innovation provides high quality professional services that complement the effectiveness of the Open Print suite of software products, and we help our customers to improve their communication process; ensure implementation and adoption of new software solutions is robust; and enable improvement of existing document output management solutions. Aware that each customer has both unique documents and specific production constraints and goals, Sefas Innovation provides services in consulting and project management, support, training and webinars,” says Esteve.
OEM partnership
Docapost and Océ announced last May, during a conference at Ipex 2010, their new OEM partnership to introduce a new innovative document design and composition solution. Océ Prisma designer, powered by the new Open Print technology from Sefas Innovation, is a new document design and composition solution which is extremely innovative in the area of collaborative workflows, object oriented design and enrichment of legacy applications. Océ Prisma designer is the leading solution for Direct Mail, TransPromo and Transactional printing applications in the professional printing environment. The design environment is built around a central repository that allows any document stakeholder to share resources in real time, regardless of location. Data is separated from design and design from output. This provides the flexibility to use any type and number of data files in the design process and to render documents in any output format, including electronic formats and delivery. Due to the browser based architecture all Océ Prisma designer functionalities can be accessed via integrated web portals.
On display
The OpenPrint software suite from Sefas Innovation is a stand alone product, which also is the base-technology for Océ Prisma designer, released at Ipex 2010. This software suite was embedded in a solution portal to deliver a composite application merging various documents on the fly - including the re-engineering of legacy documents. This TransPromo application with multi channel delivery capabilities was passed onto Océ Prismaproduction to manage the printing and fulfillment.
As a demonstration of their close partnership, Océ and Sefas showed an end-to-end application combining their technologies at Ipex 2010. The application displayed at the Sefas booth captured information from visitors and used it to create an on-demand personalized policy document for that visitor. The output was generated in multiple output channels (print, e-mail, SMS). The print output (color AFP file) was sent from the Sefas booth to the Océ software booth. There it was queued in Prismaproduction and viewed with TrueProof. The Océ Prismaproduction client on the Sefas booth shown the print file queued for printing (after it has been sent from Open Print Producer).
“We wanted to show that by combining the right technologies, TransPromo and multi channel delivery in a demanding color environment can be done quickly and easily – said Jean-Philippe Sarraut, chairman and CEO of Sefas Innovation. And Océ was the ideal partner to do that.”
