True Personalization the talk of On Demand
By Joe Barber, Chief QR Officer at the CodeZQR division of Computer Output Print & Internet (COPI)
While attending On Demand in Philadelphia last week I heard a lot of talk about personalized communications. Hardware vendors were touting how their digital printing technologies can deliver cost effective personalized communications, software companies were touting their ability to spice up 1:1 communications with personalized images and messaging, and research companies were touting surveys confirming the value of personalized communications to recipients.
In the course of these many conversations there was unanimous agreement that simply delivering people to a website that says “Welcome, Joe” does not cut it anymore. Personalization needs to go far beyond that to include images, messaging, and content that is targeted at a particular individual or a very small and homogenous demographic segment.
CodeZ QR is an incredibly powerful tool in this world of true personalization. The tremendous data capacity of a QR Code allows companies to encode many different pieces of demographic information into a QR Code. This demographic information can in turn be used to create very uniquely personalized web experiences for recipients responding to messaging in 1:1 communications.
By delivering them to a website containing messaging tailored to their specific interests marketers can improve the recipients experience in interacting with the company and significantly increase the probability of gaining additional mindshare and business with that recipient.
With this greater awareness of the value of personalization and the explosion of the mobile phone computing platform, CodeZ QR is the perfect tool for connecting people from their printed 1:1 communications pieces to a highly personalized highly relevant mobile web experience.
If you have seen some good examples of this new level of true personalization I would love to see them. Please email them to me at jb@CodeZQR.com.
