Government Chooses QR Codes For Passports
By Joe Barber, Chief QR Officer at the CodeZQR division of Computer Output Print & Internet (COPI)
The Canadian government has deployed a very ingenious application of QR Codes in their online Adult Passport Application. As you enter information in each field on the form the QR code is automatically modified to include each new piece of information.
I have created a short video that demonstrates the form being filled out and the QR code being dynamically modified.
This passport application demonstrates the power behind COPI's CodeZ QR architecture. CodeZ QR is a software agnostic, enterprise wide subroutine that facilitates the wide array of applications that QR will be used for.
The ability to generate QR Codes from the desktop to the data center from any software application to be printed or displayed on any device in the enterprise is unique to CodeZ QR.
Governments don’t typically adopt leading edge technologies so the fact that the Canadian government has chosen QR Codes for this application confirms that QR Codes have entered the mainstream.
In order to benefit from the efficiencies, sustainability, and security provided by QR, the time for CodeZ QR enablement of an enterprise printed output is here.
If you have ideas for other applications of QR Codes feel free to share them with me at jb@CodeZQR.com as I would love to hear about them.
