Valentina Carnevali is co-founder of 4IT Group, a communication and consultancy company for associations and groups of enterprises in the high-volume printing and document management markets. As project manager of Inprinting, Italy’s largest conference on digital printing and electronic documents, and as officer of Xplor Italy, Carnevali is a major force in the Italian output community. At 4IT Group, she is the marketing and communication manager responsible for coordinating all the company's projects, which include many educational events, market research and international cooperation and institutional lobbying initiatives. During her 10 years' professional experience in Italy, Carnevali has taken care of many projects aimed at observing the market, intercepting changes and pulling together competences to match demand and to create opportunities.



Dr. Penny K. Bennett US

Penny K. Bennett is an author and associate professor in the Graphic Communication Department of California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California. Her areas of expertise are in variable data printing, digital printing, workflow, output issues, packaging and prepress. Her most recent book "The Handbook for Digital Printing and Variable Data Printing" follows publications in the areas of web-based instruction, expanded gamut printing, PDF and digital printing and variable data printing. Bennett has been a presenter at a variety of conferences nationally, including FFTA Forum, Graph Expo/Print Expos, PIA/GATF Variable Data and Personalization Conference and the IPA conference.



Kelley Sloane – United States

Kelley Sloane has served as vice president of marketing for Exstream Software since April 2000. She is responsible for corporate, product, industry and international marketing for Exstream, as well as customer relations and co-marketing partner programs. Her services have been instrumental in Exstream’s recognition as one of the world’s fastest growing companies. Sloane graduated with distinction from the University of Kentucky with a bachelor’s degree in computer science.

Coco Chen has been an influential force in advancing the printing technology industry in China. She leads the most prominent and professional media in the Chinese printing industry, including professional journals such as Printing Technology and Digital Printing. Chen helps organize many large-scale conferences and exhibitions like China Printing Forum and the All in Print China International Exhibition. She is a graduate of the Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication.



Sheila Eletto – United States

Sheila Eletto is vice president, marketing communications, at Pitney Bowes, leading the communication efforts within the Document Messaging Technologies (DMT) business for the past 10 years. In her role, she has helped the company evolve into the world’s leading provider of integrated customer communication management solutions, including hardware, software and professional services. Eletto is responsible for the execution of strategic marketing plans, including advertising, media relations, sales collateral, Web, trade shows and customer seminars. While at Pitney Bowes, she launched the company’s first open house and the first customer conference, which is now in its eighth year. Most recently, she successfully integrated six acquired brands into the DMT family. Eletto has received various awards for her excellence in technology and communication.



Kathy Hamburger – United States

Kathy Hamburger joined Regulus in 1999 and serves as president and chief operating officer of Regulus. She leads the executive management team that is responsible for business development, product management, national operations, service delivery and compliance. She is integral in the management of the company’s sales activities, driving double-digit growth and profitability results. Hamburger has extensive expertise in banking and financial services, and has held senior management positions at AT&T.



Lieske van der Grinten - The Netherlands
Founding Family Member - 1834-1910, Awarded Posthumously

Lieske Muysers was born Aug. 27, 1834 in Velden, The Netherlands. In 1862, she married Lodewijk van der Grinten and developed a strong interest in her husband’s career. In 1877, Lodewijk wanted to sell a chemical coloring for margarine that he had developed for a food manufacturer. Ms. van der Grinten advised otherwise and persuaded her husband to create a company to manufacture the product. The company, now known as Océ, eventually added chemicals critical to the printing business which led to its global growth as a provider to the printing and imaging industry. Ms. van der Grinten is honored posthumously for her considerable role in the birth of Océ.

Cindy Johnson is a supervisor at Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon. At Regence, her responsibilities include high-volume digital printing, electronic duplication and publishing, corporate forms as well as the enterprise document archive and retrieval system. She’s been with the company since 1977, has responsibility for a staff of 14 and a 24/7 operation that prints over 15 million impressions per month. Johnson has been active in Xplor International, the electronic document systems association, since 1988. She helped start up the Northwest Chapter of Xplor and founded the association’s Columbia-Willamette Chapter. She’s served on the Xplor board of directors and on numerous committees. Johnson received her Electronic Document Professional (EDP) certification in 1993 and was re-certified in 1999 and 2004. She was recently the chairman of the EDP Certification Commission and treasurer of the Columbia-Willamette Chapter of Xplor.



Maureen Creely

Maureen Creely is a director of sales (U.S & Canada) for Inkjet Printing Solutions with Eastman Kodak Company's Graphic Communications Group. Creely is responsible for the direct and indirect sales channel for Kodak's high-speed continuous inkjet printing solutions portfolio. Prior to her most recent assignment, Creely was a national accounts manager for Kodak Versamark. Creely brings extensive industry background with over 20 years of experience in various sales roles with Scitex Digital Printing, Xerox and Hewlett-Packard. She holds a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in business administration. She also supports the Ann Ida Gannon, B.V.M. Center for Women and Leadership Endowment Fund.



Mary Hegarty

Mary Hegarty has an impressive career with over 20 years experience in project and program management, document and content management, and print strategy development and implementation, primarily for the insurance, financial and service bureau markets. Ms. Hegarty as a Senor Product Manager with NEPS, Ms. Hegarty has taken charge of multi-million dollar communications management initiatives involving research, document audits and redesign initiatives. Previously, Ms. Hegarty worked with NewRiver, Inc., Art Plus Technology and Xerox Corporation. She’s a frequent speaker at major conferences and has published multiple articles on the RFP process. Hegarty is an active member of Xplor international, the electronic document systems association, where she served as the treasurer of the Xplor Northeast region. She also spends time working with the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE), a private, non-profit organization whose mission is to find adoptive homes for children waiting in foster care. She has served as a member of the Board of Directors since 2000 and has held the position of Board President since 2005. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Lowell – Massachusetts.



Barbara Martine

Barbara Martine is the president and owner of Datapage, Inc. Her company helps customers convert from manual billing systems to automated bill printing and mailing. Prior to Datapage, she was in charge of the Special Collections Department at First Interstate Bank. Martine was also employed by Kaiser Permanente for three years. She’s been involved with Xplor International, the electronic document systems association, for many years, serving on the Southern California Chapter board as meeting coordinator for three years, and most recently as vice president. She also served several years as president of the local Soroptimist International Chapter, which raised thousands of dollars for local women shelters, homeless shelters and local reading programs. She has a bachelor's degree in science from the University of California San Diego.



Emily Reynolds

Emily Reynolds has been with Canon Business Solutions since 1995, first as executive vice president, then as president, Canon Business Solutions-Central, Inc. She is currently the vice president of service, Canon Business Solutions, nationally; vice president of regional operations, Canon Business Solutions, Central Region; and vice president, Direct Sales Planning Group, Canon U.S.A., Inc. Prior to joining Canon, Reynolds enjoyed a successful 15-year career at Xerox. She is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago. She is on the board of the Japan America Society of Chicago and a member of The Wings Club (New York). She is also a member of the Executive Women's Golf Association (EWGA), and has been a conference speaker and presenter of the Canon Business Woman of the Year Award. She is an honors graduate of Mount Holyoke College.

Clare Woodman

Clare Woodman embodies the entrepreneurial spirit. Though she was named the 2004 Pitney Bowes Inventor of the Year, she left that company to join an international start-up venture, Megaspirea International. Her new company's innovative product, the Mailliner 100, facilitates the creation of on-demand transaction and marketing pieces. Woodman served almost 20 years in the production mail industry at Pitney Bowes where she worked in engineering, product management, strategic marketing and alliance development, along the whole value chain of production mail, both hardware and software. She has an electrical engineering degree, a master of business administration and holds seven U.S. patents on everything from real-time machine control to electronic bill presentment and payment.



Shelley Sweeney
Vice President / General Manager Service Bureau/ Direct Marketing Sector
Xerox Corporation

Shelley Sweeney is the vice president/general manager for the Service Bureau and Direct Marketing Sector, Graphic Arts Industry, Xerox Corporation. In this role, Sweeney has responsibility for marketing and customer partnership programs for this strategic sector of the graphic communication industry. She is responsible for developing, marketing and maintaining solutions for the Service Bureau sector worldwide. She manages the overall go-to-market strategy for the segment, including market analysis, identification of key business opportunities, sales coverage, product and solution requirements, marketing plans and customer engagement and relationships. Sweeney has been with Xerox for 20 years in a variety of assignments in engineering, sales, operations, and marketing. She has a bachelor’s degree in business marketing and has completed the Smith College Executive Management Program. Prior to joining Xerox, Sweeney was an electrical engineer for ITT/Federal Electric Corporation.



Elizabeth Walter

Elizabeth Walter is executive vice president, International Field Operations for Group 1. She leads the planning and execution of growth strategies to deliver high-value customer communication management solutions through direct and indirect channels serviced by 15 locations across Europe, Latin America and Asia Pacific regions. Walter previously held positions in sales and sales engineering in the enterprise software industry with companies such as Boole & Babbage (now BMC), Syncsort and IBM. She holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology.



Cathy Lewis
Senior Vice President, Marketing
IKON Office Solutions

Throughout her career, Cathy Lewis has made significant contributions to the output industry. Now serving as the senior vice president of marketing for IKON, Lewis honed her HVTO skills at Siemens Information Systems. She moved to Xerox Printing Systems marketing in early 1990 and helped launch the industry’s first highlight color products as well as software that enabled Xerox to print from IBM AFP data streams. In her dozen years with Xerox, almost eight were in and around the high volume business. Lewis closed her Xerox career as the vice president of worldwide marketing for the Color Solutions Business Unit and moved forward to IKON in 2001. At IKON, she has helped the company take its high-volume portfolio to the next level by enhancing relationships with both existing and new vendors and identifying products that round out IKON’s portfolio.



Kim Chan

Kim Chan has a talent for automating highly customized documents for investment customers while keeping an eye on scalability, cost savings and ROI. Currently the Director of Institutional Services for Franklin Templeton Investments, Kim and her team are responsible for automating client and sales materials for a wide range of investment products. Kim has been involved in process automation for over 20 years at a wide range of industries, including financial investments, insurance, software development, manufacturing, and retail.



Katherine D. Clarke (Casey)
National Account Manager, Creative Services Specialist
US Government Printing Office (USGPO)

Born on a sailboat named Trouble Shooter, Katherine Clarke has done just that for the past several years in her role at the U.S. Government Printing Office (USGPO). Clarke devises and implements tactical and strategic business development plans, opens new markets and seizes business opportunities for new products and services. Her major accounts include the State Department, General Services Administration, Veteran Affairs, Federal Emergency Management Agency (Department of Homeland Security), Congress and The Supreme Court of the United States. Before joining the USPGO, Clarke was with TouchPoint Communications, where she was responsible for branding print and web products. She began her output career at Empire BlueCross BlueShield as a print buyer. After a previous system was lost as a result of the 9/11 attacks, Clarke designed and implemented a temporary marketing-job tracking database from scratch using Microsoft Access.



Kathy Dell
Vice President of Partner Relations
Elixir Technologies

Kathy Dell is an experienced veteran of the high volume transaction output community. Currently serving as vice president of partner relations at Elixir Technologies, Dell began her career with Intran, the inventor of the first graphics, font and forms editors for the Xerox 9700 printing system. While at Intran, Dell worked with her longtime career mentor, Basit Hamid, who went on to form Elixir Technologies. Later, Varityper Corporation, a producer of cold-typesetting equipment, recruited Dell from Intran to bring composition technology to high-quality offset printing companies. It wasn't long before Xerox spotted Dell and brought her to El Segundo, Calif. to speed the integration of Elixir's products with Xerox's systems and sales force. Dell moved on to Elixir Technologies, where she's been for more than 18 years.


2005 Award Recipients:


Leslie Abi-Karam
President, Document Messaging Technologies
Pitney Bowes

Among the who’s who of the high volume transaction output industry, Leslie Abi-Karam manages a global workforce of some 3,200 employees at Pitney Bowes, where she is accountable for a $750 million international business. Abi-Karam started at Pitney Bowes in 1984 as an industrial engineer, and delivered a digital, web-enabled postage-metering product line meeting global compliance for all regulatory requirements. She also launched a new product line to the mail creation and finishing market space, positioning Pitney Bowes with a competitive advantage, driving increased worldwide revenue and profit. In 2004, she negotiated a $350 million investment in Group 1 Software, the largest acquisition within Pitney Bowes, positioning the company as a leader in customer communications management. Abi-Karam is a member of the Pitney Bowes Strategic Leadership Council and she serves on the Pitney Bowes LEAD Advisory Council. Abi-Karam has a bachelor’s degree from the Northeastern University and an MBA from University of Bridgeport.



Janet Cain
Director Production Marketing
Canon U.S.A., Inc.

A recognized leader in the world of high volume transaction output, Janet Cain is the director of production marketing for Canon U.S.A. Inc. Early in her career, in 1983, she entered the imaging business in the area of sales with Savin. Two years later, she joined Eastman Kodak Office Imaging in their sales department. While at Kodak, she was also the district sales manager and regional sales manager, and she received the company’s Excellence in Management Award. Cain joined Canon’s marketing team in 1997 and was later promoted to director of color systems marketing, then director of the Production Systems Division. In 2005, Cain was selected for the Global Canon Corporate Executive Development Program. She is honored to be recognized by OutputLinks as one of its prestigious Women of Distinction – Class of 2005.



Carole Ziglin
Print Scan Engineering Specialist

At American Family Insurance in Madison, Wis., Carole Ziglin is a print and scan engineering specialist. She began her career at American Family in 1997, working as a researcher, strategist, project manager and implementer of various document management and supporting infrastructure technologies. As an expert in high volume transaction output, Ziglin has worked on projects such as: electronic document management for corporate underwriting; a comprehensive print and mail study; an enterprise scanning study; all check/draft MICR printing; a production output management study; and Emtex, FlexServer, IBM InfoPrint implementation for internal charge backs of production print. Previously, Ziglin was with IBM Corporation in Madison, Wis., where she held various roles, including marketing printing specialist. She was a founding member and presenter of the Wisconsin AFP Users Group, and she is a 10+-year member of Xplor International, the electronic document systems association. She is also a frequent industry speaker.



Keenie McDonald
General Manager, IBM Printing Systems
IBM

Kennie McDonald began her IBM career in Little Rock, Ark. as a sales representative. In 1995, she led the worldwide re-engineering of IBM’s customer satisfaction, relationship management and opportunity management process. Later, she became the vice president for Western-area product sales, responsible for IBM’s line of hardware products in 11 states. She was ranked No. 1 in sales growth during the two years she served in that role. McDonald also held various other positions at IBM, including executive assistant to IBM Chairman and CEO, Lou Gerstner. She was also vice president, IBM Global Services, where she developed IBM’s global market segmentation and offering strategy for small and medium businesses. In 2001, McDonald was the managing director for Prudential Financial, working across all IBM brands and services to help Prudential harness the full power of IBM to deliver competitive advantage. Today, as general manager of IBM’s Printing Systems Division, McDonald has worldwide responsibility for the development, marketing, sales and service of IBM printing products and solutions.



Holly Huggins
BSP and Link2Gov General Manager
Metavante Corporation

With more than 35 years of business experience, Holly Huggins is a distinguished professional in the high volume transaction output industry. Higgins also has more than 15 years experience in international sales and marketing with $500 million corporations, selling hospital and operating room equipment. At Metavante, she’s held several high-level positions, including: business operations manager, CSF; senior manager, e-finance; project manager and release manager, e-banking; PSO manager, CSF; and, most currently responsible for the P&L for the BSP (Biller Solutions), located in Toronto and Link2Gov (Government payments), located in Nashville, TN. Huggin’s overall philosophy is to live and learn. “It’s important to take the good experiences and do them again, but also take the bad experiences and try to fix them so it doesn’t happen again,” she says. Huggins attend Rochester Institute of Technology.



Carrie Murphy, EDP
Market Development Manager– Americas
Ricoh | IBM InfoPrint Solutions Company

As a highly-active member of Xplor International, the electronic document systems association, output pro Carrie Murphy took on many leadership roles. For the Xplor Northeast Region, she was president from 2001 to 2004. In addition, she was vice president from 1999 to 2000, and secretary in 1998. She was also a member of Xplor’s Adobe Systems Joint Technology Council. While at DST Systems as a systems manager, Murphy was instrumental in the delivery of several innovative transaction documents for DST Systems clients, including the first consolidated mutual fund shareholder statement, and the delivery of the first full color high-net asset shareholder statement. She also implemented an MRPII shop-floor control system for print and mail manufacturing. She was also responsible for roll feed printing within the organization, as well as electronic document delivery and electronic notification. Murphy received her Electronic Document Professional “EDP” Certification in 2000, and she serves as an EDP mentor and evaluator.



Kandyce Santiago, EDP
IT Manager
Aegon Financial Market Group

Kandyce Santiago has worked in the insurance industry for 27 years. She has a bachelor’s degree in computer science degree, which she puts to good use in various roles, such as: system analyst, technical consultant, project manager and IT Manager. Santiago began her career in the Actuarial Department, designing life insurance contracts; this sparked an interest in publishing. Some 20 years ago, she then became a programmer to help implement Docucorp’s publishing solution for life insurance contracts. She worked on mainframe and client server platforms to produce both IBM and Xerox output for life insurance, health insurance, structured settlements and annuities. Over the span of her career, Santiago has designed and implemented many publishing processes using IBM, Docucorp and Compuset solution products. Currently, she is the manager of the information technology department at AEGON Financial Markets Group, where she implements Docucorp’s publishing products to create a flexible infrastructure that will grow with the company’s publishing needs. Santiago has achieved recognition with several certifications, including: LOMA and Electronic Document Professional (EDP).

Ellie Bird
Senior Technical Consultant
ADP Output Services

Ellie Bird currently works as a senior technical consultant for ADP Output Services. She is responsible for designing the implementation of new customer applications and providing technical project management across multiple projects for the brokerage and financial industries. She joined IBM in 1981 as a Systems Engineer. In 1984 she had the opportunity to get involved with Advanced Function Printing (AFP) and was made an Area Specialist in 1987. She joined IBM's Printing Systems Company in 1991 at its inception as a Senior Technical Specialist where she supported MVS, VM and VSE implementations across a multi-state area.



Mary Black
Chair of the School of Graphic Communications Management
Ryerson University

Mary Black is the chair of the School of Graphic Communications Management at Ryerson University, the only degree granting school of Print Management in Canada. For 17 years she was the founder, CEO and President of Colour Technologies, an award winning Electronic Pre-Media house. During her tenure at Ryerson she spearheaded a $10.5 million fundraising campaign within the Printing Industry. She then helped design and build a new home for the school. She is a frequent presenter and industry spokesperson, advocating quality and excellence as well as the need for re-training and education in the industry.



Kathy Crowley
Program Director, Information Technology
Bristol West Insurance Group

Kathy Crowley is the program director in Information Technology at Bristol West Insurance Group in Cleveland, Ohio. She manages the portfolio of IT project requests for the Customer Service Group, focusing on process automation, workflow and expense reduction. Her project teams have developed business solutions involving high-speed laser printing, check processing, document imaging and archive, and Internet self-service applications. In addition, Kathy has been an active leader with Xplor International, the electronic document systems association, for many years.



Wilma M. Grant
Manager, Publications Unit, Office of Data Systems
Unites States Supreme Court

Wilma M. Grant is the manager of the publications Unit of the Office of Data Systems for the Supreme Court of the United States. She has 21 years of experience with the federal government. Wilma actually began her career on the other side of the pond with the Royal Air Force in England, then emigrated to the United States. As In-Plant Manager of the Publications Dept., in the Office of Data Systems at the Supreme Court of the United States, she currently directs the book production publishing/typesetting of U.S. Reports, Slip Opinions and related products plus all other in-plant printing, Print-on-Demand, data conversion, and electronic product delivery via Hermes telecommunications, and data conversions of Court products for the Court's website. She is responsible for the safety and security of all documents handled by her dept. including such high profile cases as Bush v. Gore. She also serves as a technology adviser to the Court's Automation Policy Committee - senior Court officers. Muriel Hogan, EDP

Muriel Hogan EDP is director, conferences and exhibits, at Xplor International, the electronic document systems association. She began her electronic document industry career in 1983 as a business analyst responsible for commercial policy automation at Kemper Insurance in 1983. In 1987. Muriel moved on from Kemper Insurance and took a client services position with Image Sciences (now DocuCorp) in Dallas, Tex. In addition to her client services responsibilities, she was also responsible for coordinating their annual user group meeting. Still a member of Xplor International, but now as a vendor, she was appointed to the Xplor Vendor Advisory Council in 1990. In 1991, Muriel received her Electronic Document Printing Professional (EDP) from Xplor, making her the first vendor to receive the designation. In 1992, Muriel began her career with Xplor providing assistance in the development and support of the Global conference curriculum.



Ann Jurczyk

Ann Jurczyk is the vice president of marketing for the DOC1 Division of Group 1 Software, where she is responsible for worldwide positioning, branding and promotion of DOC1 Series 5, Group 1's complete customer communication management solution. Prior to joining Group1 Software in 1992, she was Vice President of Account Services for Smyth, Bauer & Lewis, a boutique agency in Richmond, VA, which specialized in branding and customer acquisition programs for high-technology firms. Prior to joining SB&L, Ann was Director of Corporate Communications for GENICOM, a printer manufacturing firm. Ann is a frequent speaker at regional DMA meetings, NCDM, Software Marketing Forum, DMBís Business-to-Business Marketing, Xplor, DocuWorld and On-Demand.



Linda McDaniel, EDP

Linda McDaniel, EDP, has worked in the Electronic Document industry for over 15 years. Her responsibilities have included design of marketing pieces and electronic forms, font creation, customer support, QA and services management, and design and delivery of technical training. Linda earned EDP (Electronic Document Professional) certification in 1999 and was recertified in 2004. She was named an industry Woman of Distinction in 2003. Linda is a frequent speaker at regional and global Xplor conferences on topics including Fonts 101, Comparative Anatomy of Printstreams, Why Online Documents Don't Look the Same as Printed Ones, and industry terminology. Linda McDaniel is currently a Technical Consultant and Trainer for Xenos, where she travels the world teaching people about AFP, Metacode, PCL, PDF, XML, font correlation and document transform configuration, and helping companies repurpose their print files into e-documents. Linda is currently serving on the Advisory Board for Xplor UK and Ireland.



Denise Miano

Denise Miano is the founder and Chief Technology Officer of NEPS, LLC. Ms. Miano has more than 20 years of experience in systems design and the implementation of state-of-the-art document management and delivery technologies. She is a member of the board of directors of NEPS, LLC. Ms. Miano was the CEO of NEPS prior to its acquisition by Moore in 1996 and spearheaded the management buy-out and re-launch of NEPS in 2004 . While at Moore-Wallace, she was the Vice President of Customer Technologies responsible for developing technical solutions, digital offerings, and partner relationships for the company. She provided strategic systems analysis and consulting services for major customer accounts which focused on print procurement, digital technologies, and supply chain management. During her tenure at NEPS, Ms. Miano has been responsible for bringing several products to market including NDemand™.Ms. Miano has been a featured speaker at past industry forums such as On Demand, XPLOR, AIIM, and the Financial Communications Forum. Barbara Pellow
Gannett Professor & Administrative Chair

Barbara Pellow is the Gannett professor and administrative chair at the Rochester Institute of Technology. She has spent more than 25 years in the industry focused on digital technology. She worked at IBM for 13 years in systems, sales, and management positions. She later assumed the role of VP and General Manager for Document Production Systems at Xerox where she supported the transition from analog copiers to digital print on demand technology. She was recognized as a digital printing and publishing pioneer and writes for industry trade publications and teaches at seminars and conferences. At RIT, Barbara focuses on the relationship between traditional paper-based media and emerging electronic new media. She has also assumed the role of Administrative Chair, where she oversees the School of Print Media.



Ana Wall

Ana Wall is the supervisor of the new data center division of the LDS Church. She started at the bottom as a computer operator and worked her way up to the lead operator of a small team. She learned programming, and eventually discovered a passion for serving as a liaison between customers and computer operators. Ana has also held many leadership positions within Xplor International, the electronic document systems association.

Debbie A. Cannon is president and founder of DAC Enterprises, a consulting firm specializing in customer relationship marketing. She has over 30 years experience in direct mail and database marketing and management, and is a frequent speaker and author on relationship marketing, postal reclassification, database management, and how technology impacts the workplace. Cannon has held various leadership positions within the Xplor International community, including a five-year stint as the Editor-and-Chief of Xploration Journal. Cannon was a past recipient of Xplor's ‘Xplorer of the Year’ and Xplor Presidents awards. Cannon volunteers on several Community Chamber of Commerce and Non profits boards.



Toby Cobrin, EDP

Toby Cobrin, EDP, is Director for INTERQUEST. She has been involved in the electronic document industry for more than 25 years. Her roles have included technical and marketing positions in a leading document service bureau, technology advisor to the trade association Xplor International, and research analyst for INTERQUEST. Over the past five years she has worked on numerous INTERQUEST studies. Ms. Cobrin has spoken at numerous industry conferences and has contributed articles to leading industry trade journals. Ms. Cobrin holds a Master of Science degree in Business from Columbia University.



Elizabeth Gooding

Elizabeth Gooding is the founder and president of Art Plus Technology, Inc., now a wholly owned subsidiary of NEPS LLC. Ms. Gooding is a recognized expert in creative and technical information design. Ms. Gooding also founded Insight Forums, LLC which produces the annual Financial Communications Forum and Healthcare Communications Forums. She was the editor of E.bill Magazine in the early years of electronic statement presentment, is currently on the advisory board of Document Magazine. She has presented on emerging trends in communications management at numerous industry Ms. Gooding is also the chairperson of the Financial Communications Forum Advisory Council and a member of the board of directors of NEPS LLC. Prior to establing Art Plus Technology, Gooding was the Business Manager of ADEPT, Inc. (aquired by Monster.com) and a consultant with Technology Strategy, Inc. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics and Computer Science from Northeastern University.



Diana Hillman, EDP

Diana Hillman, currently employed with Xerox Special Information Systems as a Solutions Development Manager, has been in the industry since 1976. Hillman has had the opportunity to view technology from both sides of the fence, either employed as a user of the technology or vendor providing the technology. She has been involved with Xplor International since it started as a Xerox Users Group. She has held Xplor regional board positions, various positions associated with the Electronic Document Professional (EDP) Certification Commission such as Chair, Vice-Chair, and Commissioner, and several years as an Associate Editor of Xploration Journal. Diana is currently the Treasurer of the Xplor Mid-Atlantic Region. In 1992, Diana was the first Xerox employee to receive EDP Certification.

Susan Lach, EDP

Susan Lach EDP is a seasoned document professional with 15 years of experience in the industry. She began her career at The Hartford where she held various document management positions within the organization. She is now serving as the Vendor Manager in the Print & Distribution area at Aetna, where she manages the outsource relationship with the contracted vendor for high-volume computer output (HVCO), forms management, and project management related to HVCO initiatives. Lach has been very active in Xplor International. She served on the Board of Directors for 6 years and served as Chairman for 3 consecutive years. Wendy McMillan

Wendy MacMillan has been part of the IT and electronic document systems industries for a number of years, working for one of the largest service bureaus in Canada in the areas of prescription filling systems for drug stores, laser printing, mail and distribution, computer output microfiche and data entry. She managed many major projects, including the set up of new print, mail, distribution and warehousing facilities; conversion of client print and distribution; system definition and development; and production centre moves. McMillan was a volunteer board member with Xplor during these years, helping to establish Xplor in Canada and responsible for organizing many of the early conferences. Since 1995, Wendy has worked full time with Xplor, providing support to the Canadian Region members and boards, delivering programs and activities and acting as a champion for the industry.



Jeanne Mowlds

The Electronic Document Systems Foundation (EDSF)

Executive Director Jeanne Mowlds executed the launch of The Electronic Document Systems Foundation in 1996. Between 1996 and through 2007, she developed and oversaw the education programs and research development, and managed the fundraising, marketing and administration of the Foundation. Prior to EDSF, Mowlds was vice president of new business and product development and management for the SEQUOR Group of Security Pacific National Bank and held management positions at computer software companies Ashton-Tate and Quarterdeck Office Systems. Her earlier career was in education as director, principal, college instructor and teacher. Mowlds received her BS from the University of Wisconsin, La Crosse and her MS from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She completed post-graduate work at Loyola College in Baltimore, and completed the UCLA Executive Management Program in Los Angeles, Calif. Mowlds is a member of the Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation (PGSF) and the Accrediting Council for Collegiate Graphics Communications (ACCGC) board of directors.



Kathy Rixham, EDP

Kathy Rixham has been involved with some aspect of printing all her life. She actually started at a very young age when she would go to work with her father who was a typesetter for Maryland Casualty Insurance. Rixham's love turned into a career in 1992 when she adopted her first Xerox 4090 printer at Baltimore Life Insurance Company. Since 1992, she has attended most of the MidAtlantic Regional Meetings of Xplor International, and has attended the Global Conference since 1994. Rixham started Xplor's MidAtlantic Region Newsletter, and now creates it on the MidAtlantic web site. She served as Secretary of the Region, and currently serves as the Public Relations Communicator. Kathy Rixham received her Electronic Document Professional (EDP) certification in 1996, her 5-year recertification in 2002, and most recently has her 10-year recertification the end of 2007. Rixham dabbles in web site development to help out her friends and church.



Cheryl Simerson, EDP

Cheryl Simerson EDP is an engineer at Liberty Northwest (previously CGU North Pacific Insurance) in Portland, Oregon. Although there have been four different company names in the past four years due to mergers, sales, etc., she has been with the company for 24 years. Simerson has been very active in Xplor International since joining in 1989. She held the first Vice President position when the Columbia-Willamette Chapter was formed, and since then has served on the chapter board holding positions as Chapter Secretary, Chapter Vice President, and Chapter President. She also served on the Xplor Western Region board as Vice President and was the Region President for three years. Simerson is currently on the Xplor Association Board of Directors for the Western Region. She received the “Xplorer of the Year” award in 1998 for her hard work and dedication to Xplor International.
