2D and Color

Question – Can I print my 2D codes in color?

Answer - If you have a color printer and wish to include a 2D symbol on your document, you can do that but there are issues that you will want to watch or.

Most scanners work on a reflectance ration. This means that there must be enough of a difference between the print itself and the background. Most of us are printing with black toner and white or light colored paper. This should pose no problem to the scanner.

If you were to choose a blue print and blue paper that did not have enough of a difference, you could end up with scanning issues. There are many scanners on the market, some of which have greater tolerances built-in that will handle this. The best thing to do is to ask that question to your scanner vendor, of have some tests done with various types of paper and colors for both the printed symbol and the background paper.

There are many applications or 2D that require marking items other than paper, so the chance are excellent that a simple print application can work well with colors of the users choice.

Let me know how I can help I you have a color application you are considering.
